Hey. I was thinking that you know, it is easy to use notes to control synths, but difficult to use envelopes.
I just did a nice solo. It is easy to input notes, but envelopes, you have to click with mouse like thousand times and you still will not get it right.
It would be nice if you can utilize the note data better. For example you do three note patterns, in one pattern the pitch of the note controls the pitch of the syntesizer as usual. in second pattern the pitch or note number controls for example amount of FM modulation for an oscillator, and the third pattern controls filter cutoff frequency. Is there some way in Ableton Live (or other software) to copy-paste a pattern into envelopes?
For example I want so that every C4 transforms into cutoff frequency 400, C5 into 800, etc..
And for example I want in the third pattern C4 to transform into 30% of the FM-modulation amount, C5 for 40%, or something..
Very often the pattern you would want to do for the envelope is similar to the note pattern and it would really make composing faster to somehow copypaste the notes into envelope point positions.
The second solution for this is somehow to extend the amount of MIDI inputs in VST synths so that one input controls one feature, another input another feature, etc.. Is this possible, lets say in Predator, Syleth, Z3TA+ or something..?
