Hi guys. how is everybody?
I have a question.
Im finishing my track, and i realized that i need a computer just for music production, because i dont think pleasure computers and music computers should be the same. it just doesnt work right.
So while i dont have the money to buy athe computer i want, i'll just buy a HD for now.
I produce with logic, so im going to install all sample cds and vst's at the other hard drive.
What would be the best way to put my track on the other HD? with all setting and everything exactly like it is now?
Thanks. take care. |

I think you have confused some things a bit.
Putting a second hard disk is always good because of the extra storage space you get.
Copying your sample cd's in the new drive(assuming you have them already on your C:/ disk) is absolutely recommended, as back up as well and to free space from your system disc. If your new HD is with 16MB buffer even better.
Regarding all other music software even if you install it to another partition or physical disk, some files are always installed in the C:/ disk which means that if for any reason you have to format your system disk, software installed anywhere else will not work after the new installation of the operating system. For that reason, installing your vsts to the new disk doesn't really offer you anything unless you need the space and your vsts are big.
Regarding your track the only thing you can do is just save it in a new projects folder in the new HD. This way you'll have it backed up exactly as it is now.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |
