TRANCOSO (For the ones who think that Goa is dead)

Hello, guys!!!
I´ve heard a lot of people complaining that Goa is dead...the parties are fucked, the police is everywhere, arresting freaks and stuff...
Let´s say: you guys should really think forward about coming to brazil...
There´s a beach, on the northern part of the country called TRANCOSO, on the state of Bahia! (it´s a small village, near the touristic and well known city in brazil called Porto Seguro)
Trancoso is the new Goa, guys!! Raja Ram, Max Lafranconi, Serge, Riktam&Bansi, Dimitri Nakov, Jörg and so many other foreigners coming here every summer... the summer/party season here is from late December till late February, middle March, I´d say... but mostly january and february.... almost 100% of the parties are on the beach... the ocean is beaaaaaautiful and clean, the landscapes are awesome, everything is quite cheap over there (I mean EVERYTHING), and there´s, like, a 3 day party...one day without party, then a 4 day party, then 2 days resting, then 3 day party again...and it goes like these the whole season... and all of them in different beaches... there are thousands of beaches...and all of them are very pretty! parties aren´t forbidden down here and they are happening since middle 90´s...
Max Lafranconi and Raja Ram were one of the first freaks to arrive in here, 7 years ago... and last summer the parties were for 500, 600 people.... very good music over there, 90% of the parties are free, as all parties should be...the organizers only asks for some help to pay the gas of the generator... like: "Gimme one dollar" to help, u know... there are freaks from all over the globe coming here and they are free to sell their handcraft, their clothes, well, anything they want to on the beaches, on the parties and on the "Quadrado", wich is a square in the middle of the village with lots of shops, restaurants and a pretty old church, built by portuguese colonizers 3 centuries ago...
there are lots of campings and small hotels, that are quite cheap... the camping is something like 3 dollars per day and a nice room in a small hotel is something like 10, 12 dollars per day...
the restaurants are awesome... all kind of international food...italian, french, japanese, spanish, and off course, brazilian food, that has a wonderful taste! And with nice prices as well...
Trancoso is not a comercial place and ppl that go there are, let´s say, are really looking for good trance parties.... the place is magic and the energy over there is amazing... it´s not vey hard to find ayahuasca, dmt, jurema and these magical plants that can blow your mind...
To come here, you need to buy a ticket to Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo and then, a ticket to Porto Seguro.... Trancoso is 40 minutes by car from Porto Seguro and it´s quite easy to get a taxi or a Bus to go there...
The weather here is very good.... hot, sunshining whole day...almost no rains, and if you start to melt, just walk 30 meters to the sea and go for a psychedelic swim!
so, whenever you think that Goa is dead, think about moving your asses down here were the spirit is still alive!!!

lol, just like in this movie "The Beach"...
you just opened a pandora's box mate, that's what ruined Goa in the first place - too many ppl rushing in and swarming out the virginity of the place. I hope it will remain like u described, not for the ppl's sake but for nature.

i bet if i would come there, there would be nothing else but a few pedros and V.O.R's gang trying to rob my western civilation ass off..

sounds nice..
well i have 1 more year in my college. then im off to earn some money.
after that im going to buy a train ticket: helsinki - moscow.. from there im going to travell through the whole freaking asia to thailand.. by train ofcourse.
I was thinking about spending a year to this trip.
once im done, maybe i work on a ship or something to get to usa. and then travel the whole america down there.
what the hell am i going to do after that?

Well i only want to add a couple of thoughts:
i have never been to Trancoso, but from what i'm told, the golden years are already behind...too many tourists, too much money, too commercial...pandora's box is already open, and on its way to emptiness.
the good thing is (and that concerns what u said Tal) ppl have been doing their best to preserve nature...;-)
the other good thing is, ppl like Raja still go there and spread the word on good parties and good music...
the bad thing is, ppl gotta start looking for a new place to be that one special, totally unknown place.....which fortunately, Brazil has by the dozens...

been there...done that...
15 days in Trancoso...totally ass kicking! Unfortunettly I had to come back... well, somebody have to work on this family...lol
6 day party for new year´s on an island... 30 min up the river on a boat to get there... felt like a discovery channel reporter.... then, 4 day party on the beach... god damn.... that was a hell of a party... marios (greece), filippo (lotus omega), renée (denmark), antaro (spirit zone), edoardo (neurobiotic), mack (wajanga rec), chicago (ibiza), jp (tip), me (myself)... god damnit... what a party!
and... lafranconi+tip party on the 28th and much more to come... I wish I could be there...
but the comercial part was there too... specially near new year´s eve... it seems to me that is getting a lil´bit like ibiza... 2 sides... the freak side and the comercial side... but one can stand the other, specially because the ppl from the "comercial side" don´t go to trance parties anyway...
