Trancoso, Alto Paraiso and the Brazillian Psy-Trance Scene

Hey guys,
I'm a trancer from the uk and I'm posting this message as I am coming to Brazil in early february. I had been advised to go to Trancoso by a uruguayan friend; but he didn't mention that it was the brazillian equivalent of goa as is implied in the previous post! I was very excited to read of a party scene there!
I would really appreciate it if someone would write and tell me about trancoso (whats the scene like, parties, local people etc.) and other places in the country where there is a trance scene (i.e alto paraiso).
My main aim for this trip is to learn portuguese which i will need for when i return to Brazil in 2005 to do ethnographic research for my phd in Social Anthropology
(that will be around Manaus) so i am looking
for a nice place on the beach where i can live for cheap, maybe teach english in a local school (i am also a qualified teacher) and have a good time. From the last post trancoso sounds ideal.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take the time to tell me about it (also, when is the peak season for the party-scene there?)

Hey, man, Trancoso and Alto Paraiso are both exceptional places to be. But in the end of the year Alto paraiso have too much rain, which make it not attractable to party organizers.
On the other side, Trancoso is really the Brazilian Goa, a place with many great parties, specially in the end of the year...
The problem is: you are coming here only in february, and it´s near Carnaval, so I don´t know what will happen that far.
Anyway, Trancoso is an amazing place to enjoy the nature, with a strong possibility to have a psychedelic trance party.

... high paradise and trancoso are both wonderful
places to join, but in february high paradise will
be for sure out of trance, it´s a nice place to take
some rest and meet a lot of nature and energy
from brazil. trancoso for sure will have some
moviment and trance, stay tunned for the news
and choose the best place to go!!!
