does somthing like this not ring warnign bells in your head....
do you think the poeple at google just kind of sit there and go..."i know lets make a site to map peoples interests for fun"...hell no!!!!
this is about the MOST COMMERCIAL thing ever you could ever conscribe yourself to....
its like mass information grabbing for commercial advertising and marketing.....its fucking ridiculous...they are going to use all this wonderful information you lot are handing out to make money...
DONT DO IT...dont cop out to commercialism!!!

Surely if they are collecting info from what we like, both sides will benefit no? we will be presented with things that we actually like, and that might interest us, in a way we wont need to search for anything.

Yeah people, reply.. it'll be great. Once Google (actually a dummy cooperation working for a big multinational which I won't be mentioning here) has collected a lot of info, you can be sure we'll track the IP adresses and come in the night, sedate you, and implant a little chip. You'll never know until we decide that we want you to buy something. We just hit a button and then YOU suddenly get an impulse to buy potato chips... hehehe Oh my, the world is changing. It's a brave new world. Just be glad YOU'RE a part of it...

Well, I think it's not the case to be paranoid. In fact, they jus collect your IP and the 5 first digits of your Zip Code, and you can lie about the zip code.
Much worse, for example is the orkut, usually users add A LOT of info about them, but as far as I know it's far easier for your girlfriend to be pissed with you (because you signed to the community "I love Porn") than some company use the info against you (but sure a lot of companies search for their employers profile on Orkut, it's a nice way to know your enemy  ).

its not about IP's....
its like this....say one is started for poeple who like sewing and knitting....
then they can see where the most sewing and knitting poeple are in the world and they have trend...
say ther eis one for people who like to eat dorito's
then they can see where the most poeple who eat doritos live and market for those areas
its a simple infformation gathering scheme for mass marketing....
its not that hard to understand or figure out...
do you honestly think that Google doe sthis shit out of the goodness of their hearts....???
and no i am not paranoid....only thing i am scared of his killer clowns falling out of the sky and stealing my shoes...i am definiterly not paranoid!
