Its high time that we realize that even though greed is bad , artists need to sustain themselves too.. NO one and I mean absolutely NO ONE will give their 100% to their job if they dont feel that they are being fairly compensated for it.
What does that mean for the scene? If people are not happy in what they do..they will Not put in the effort to make it better and you will have substandard parties with shitty sound, substandard locations and deco and unhappy djs and artists. At the end of the day, any one who wants a party to be special will be more than happy to pay a fair charge for it assuming the producer of the party uses that money with the right intentions.
Money and Talent need to come together imho to make something special..you can have an amazing artist play on a shitty sound system and sound shitty..but if the same artist plays in a crystal clear sound system with gr8 deco matching the theme of the music, the experience can be mind blowing..Talent doesnt come for free and nor should it because then the overall quality of the party will go down..
the only exception to this rule is when wealthy people throw parties for their own satisfaction and dont spare any expense to make it special while not charging any thing to the attendees..and that does not happen often..I for one would like to have quality psy gatherings more often and that takes efficient management of resources on the part of the organizer.
At the same time, I am not condoning Ocelot's temper in his last post.

i dont have any savings, i dont have some secret bank account. i live from party to party. i now pay rent on a place because i was fortunate and did not have to for a number of years. i need a room at least to make music in and keep my studio in and be productive from.

Hehe, Aaron, did you have a nice day?:) Hope you did, because there are not many people left, who can supply us with really truely good music and let me tell you that you deserve any given cent that you take. So i hope you dont take it so seriously next time, and just be confident in doing your thing, the right thing, because i think that other kind of people are the subject of the critics in this discussion.
I mean, just look at this forum, you step inside and you just see hundreds of users that are called artists and thus have to be treated as such, incl. that they all wanna be treated as professional musicians and get their living from music. I mean, sure there are also pure souls among them, but i am speaking about the general impression that you get if you step into isratrance. Some of those " artists" not only have the rudeness to disrespect the so called normal freaks, but they are also impertinent enough, to say, here i am, and i do music and i do deserve to make my living with music. But it is not the case. There are simply too much artists out there. We dont have anything to critisise on people like you, who are true freaks of what they do, and deserve every cent they get. We are talking about all the rest with the big pretentions.
Yes, money is just an energy. But it is also something that everyone needs and actually very few people in this scene have. And btw, i know that there are definitely some friends reading here, who can find it impolite of me, but yeah, i honestly feel ridiculous to go to a party and have a mystical experience while the guys were playing for 1500 euro for 2 hours. I do. not that i havent had mystical experience even with this situation, but i dont enjoy it. Supposedly, i could nowadays imagine that all those musician could actually go and make their living on saturday night for the bigger crowd, and then come and play the truely divine music for the rest of us on monday or whatever. Hope noone is abused, but even if he is, dont botter, guys, reality is an opinion. May be i am wrong but i just say what i feel. Greets to all. One day we will have no money any more. i am perfectly sure. and then every one will get wa he deserves.

If you love music with all your hearth you just need money to live and more time to do it that's all. Then you try to make it the best you can and sure enough you will get paid for real character quality stuff! I mean how can the people recognise your sound when you are copying everybody else! Good ideas and the stamina to keep on searching plus the sacrifice to make the time enough to make it happen. It's not a piece of cake i know but every sacrifice you do makes the music better and in my hearth this is what counts! It's just point of view but it's what i believe in...
We all know that we won't take any money with us when we die but music, music has been there always and always will travel with our souls. We are just finding better ways to link to this amazing source of energy and that is why money is not even compared to MUSIC.
Music is the divine bliss we all love and the freedom we all crave. It is what we all want it to be. The gathering of the souls, the tribe we all dream about, it's all in the music! Even time does not exist in good moments of music it is timeless, egoless moment!
