so, i don't come across many trance albums that are just plain bad music. i hear alot that aren't to my liking, maybe they're cheesy as fuck or just generally not what i would like.

but i'd like to hear some of ya'lls tracks that you've run across that are just bad. badly written, bad ideas, whatever.

lets hear it!

i say around 95-98% of all trance music is plain bad, same as with all other music genres.
i won't name certain artists or tracks though, that wouldn't be nice.

The Silicon Sound rmx is the best remix I've heard for more than a year... The original was an average tune, Silicon Sound added a lot of atmosphere, a whole new universe of colors and, on top of this, top notch production.

That was a full_on post after 2003...
And I stand by it (about Pixel & Wrecked Machines - R.P.N.G.C. / Silicon Sound rmx).

ok ok I know pointing finges is not nice, but sometimes you gotz to say the truth!%$§"xyz&&&!

The flood gates must break!

I, for my own opinion find this bad, overly campy (in a way that should be expressed in a way that is not offensive to campy people) and offensive to my ears.

Maybe if I drink some more tequila spiked Desperado beers I will wave my hands to this. But then again...propably not.

Thats not to say its bad...but I just feel strong antipathy towards it...cant help myself..

ie. it makes my toe nails curl upward, which is unpleasent

This is the area for Skazi and this Israeli Liveact fake woman (What was her name?) and Eskimo.
Also: in genereal I hate remixes of pop or rock songs with psy music.

There are three examples of really bad work:

1. the "new israeli sound" that emerged around 2002.
2. the Infected Mushroom vocal stuff (gahh! it hurts!)
3. Alien Jesus (it adds injuries to the hurt in #2)

The Flowjob album Zentertainment was particularly awful as I remember, heres the review I wrote back wwhen it came out:

"First of all, before i begin, for all fairness purposes I must mention that I always disliked it when people tried to do "funky" prog-psy, i was always more into the stomping and into the deep stuff.

That being said, this is probably the worst Iboga release I can remember. And its not because of any ideological reasons or because I think Iboga shouldn't sound like this(see Electronic Ballroom discussion), because for all I care they could be releasing gay-midget-polka, but because I just don't like it.

In order to not be the asshole who just says "This Sucks", let me give you my reasons:

1. Repitition: This album sounds like 9 slightly different remixes of the same song, and a pretty average song at that. Except those basslines (see point 2), its like someone took all the prog psy songs ever released, put them into a blender, and filled the remaining mush into 9 cups putting just a little different spice mixture in each cup. Theres no Run-Baby-Run like standout track to remember in a few years on here, thats for sure.

2. The basslines: These basslines sound like a mentally retarded, crack smoking and ketamine sniffing bouncy full-on bassline at 133 bpm. Is it even humanly fathomable to turn up the annoyance factor any more than this? Its like an evil genius in a lab tried to engineer the most annoying bassline ever created, and then multiply it by 9. Ok, actually some tracks are worse than others, but i think track 3 takes the cake here.

3. "Funkyness": I guess they were going for the funky morning feeling here, but really it sounds like a tall skinny white guy with suspenders and glasses dancing to George Clinton. Funky stuff doesnt work above 125 bpm. i would even claim not over 120bpm. And white people should keep their hands of it. Face it people, we are just not funky. And I put myself on top of the list of unfunky people.

4. WTF factor: Have you ever masturbated and afterwards you thought to yourself: "It wasnt even fun to begin with, but I had nothing better to do , and it was just hanging there anyways, so..." and then that slightly guilty empty feeling sets in? Thats the feeling i get after having listened to this album. Whats the point. A few happy feeings here and there, a little instanct gratification... in german i'd use the word "belanglos", i really dont know how to translate it...

To sum it up: Belanglos!"

Two years later, I have nothing to add...that album was terrible.
