Trance Station - is it possible?

this is just a thought i had the other day:
I've noticed that over the past year, there has been an ever-increasing connection between trance & radio in Israel. Many trance dj's have been broadcasting on several radio stations such as 106fm, 102fm, Radio Darom...
Anyway, i was toying with the idea of having a radio station which is 100% dedicated to trance music. It would host local dj's, and once in while perhaps a guest appearence from abroad. The station could have a chill-out/ambient show, for people who wanna relax on their way to work. It could host unknown dj's and fresh new talent, and could be used to promote commercial parties & new releases. It might even be a nice idea to have a daily interview with artists, label managers, party promoters etc'...
As i said before, this is mearly a small fantasy of mine, and yet I was wandering:
- Is such an Idea possible?
- perhaps it could be sponsored by a label?
- Would this be good for the scene?
- Would such a station turn trance into something commercial?
- Would you personnaly enjoy having such a station?
Any thoughts or comments are welcome :-)

im dreaming of the first israeli all trance radio station for ages....
little chance that it will happen imo...

I don't think 100% trance is that easy to host. I think that a 3 hour show every day on 106fm, that's a better idea allready. Or something in that area - 24/7 trance is not an easy task... and just think about the ppl who will run the station - they'll explode after a month of 24/7 trance music imho

look at this way....88fm was started as "oldis-relax" music station...and now there is a very nice show there of trip-hop-dub beats.....very "hip"
so anyhting is possible.....goblin used to play on 99fm....
maybe if we have an "electronic" station....trance will have a nice piece of the pie |

Well in “Yes” they already have trance 24 hours a day.
I think it’s a great idea. In Israel we do have a large trance crowd.
But, unfortunately, I don’t think you’ll get the money from publicities, cause I don’t think many companies would like to broadcast their publicities on a trance channel .
Anyway, if you need help, I’m there.

btw, i think that there are some companies who would be interested in sponsoring such a station:
- trance labels (they could advertise new releases...)
- DJ hardware companies: Pioneer, gemini etc'...
- Party Promotors & clubs
- Sound People ("Hagbara" & stuff like that)
Anyway, right now i'm checking out the logistics with a friends who works at 90fm. If i can find some people who are interested, then maybe we can make it happen, allthough the project is still in it's primary stages...

i dont know, after "layla trance with dj goblin" i dont listen to trance at radio. he was the only who kept it interesting.
todays radio trance programs sounds sleazy till death.
