imho there is something in common between Trance and Rock (by saying Rock i mean thing like: Korn, Rammstein..{the heavy kind}).
i think that this 2 kinds of music have the same energy or/and the same groove.
am i the only one?

hey heh
sure you arent the one who thinks so.. but do you know any band who combined those styles in one?
im trying to do this and people say it goes nice together, but nobody can shout me a band name who did this.. im not talking about Sun Project and a few other bands who got a really few heavy metal/rock elements - im talking about lets say 30% metal and 70% trance P
Trance got the same kind of powerful energy like heavy stuff

I also like rock, but not the grops that you mentioned. By the trance music, I like rock something like "The Doors", pINK fLOYD, lED cEPPELIN, rOLLING sTONES and etc. I don't find similarities between those two music styles, But the trance movement is very similar to the hippy movement.
We have something similar:
"sex, drugs&goa-trance"
love, peace&unity......to all

anyone like Atari Teenage Riot? i suppose they don't have any trance elements in their sound but they kick ass anyway ;)
i find it very interesting to hear trance artists use guitars and distortion, it gives a more dark and gloomy approach on the songs -which is nice- |

I think there are different vibes from each style too. And I think psytrance adapts itself better to rock influences than rock adapt itself to electronic music influences...
And I don´t think Korn is any heavy. Never heard Dimmu Borgir, Morbid Angel or even Rhapsody?

Wow Chaos Theory Im glad to hear Im not the only one that would like to mix heavy rock and Trance. I would be in heaven if Infected and korn/ramstine/ect did a song together.
I don't think everything in trance can be intergated into rock. I would like 30% trance 70% rock. the first thing that got to go is the down beat kick drum in your face. It can be 140 bpm but that kick needs to be more rock drum.
rock songs can be as fast a 170. That is the one thing I hate about trance is the boom boom boom
so loud in so many songs. Crystal Method Vagas cd is a really good start in the right direction. I know its not trance but close and That was done back in 1997. I see a soon in the future a trance infuence on rock kindof like the way Nervana turned hair metal into grunge.
