Hi all, just wondering out of the many trance producers floating around this site how many have tried their hand at other music styles eg. drum and bass, trip hop etc. Personally, ive dabbled in other styles but dont have the time to try and get better at more than one style. It seems to me that psytrance is the most challenging style as far as programming. Am i wrong...what do others think? |

I tried before Trip Hop and Jungle. In these style you worry less about the production{you can add lo-finess to the track and it'll make you only cooler}.It's
production is focused mostly on the percussion and the bassline even more than in psytrance.

i'm making/made other styles, i also love to combine other music influences into trance. for me it was (and still) ambient, drum & bass, club trance, house, rock (writed tune for my friend  ), and many other stuff which come out from my head.
for me psytrance is the best and on which i working the most, about your question on programming: it depends on how and what kind of tune you making. let's say that it's more easier for me to make some minimal trance tune than to make some club trance tune full of melodies and groove... but trance can be (and it is) the most challenging one for me cause giving all my energies to into it.

Yeah, I began to being involved in psytrance around 2 years ago with my current main project but till then, since I was 12 I tried with a lot of styles such as demo with Scream tracker (yeah, I was in modscene for 6 years but without internet connection  ) (the only one I could make with Purple Motion & Skaven's samples [huge thanks to them!]) or electronic stiles when I got Fasttracker II, like happy hardcore, eurotrance, breakbeat, house, trance, drum'n'bass, downtempo, experimental... Nowadays I've two projects and one of them is the dedicated to goa and psytrance (not ambient yet as I discovered it little time ago since I disliked it) and the other one is more focused to eurotrance, breakbeat or drum'n'bass. |

Skazi use to be in a famous israelien punk band called : Breast Cancer (sartan ashad in hebrew for those who remember!) .
Dyha from Droidlock use to have a KILLER brutal death band called : Masacra .
Raja Ram use to have some hyndi rock something dont remember exacly ...
our lovely man Sandman use to be the keyboard guy of the greatest doom/death/gothic metal band : Orphand Land , and thier leader kobi parchi is now MDMA recordings 
and the list is very long ...
i use to have a death metal band (very underground and unknown ahahahhaa) , but im not a trance producter .
Ya dont know the POWER'S of the dark side ! |
