the psytrance room in soulseek (see slsk.org) is where i hang out (username: soliptic).
if you find file-sharing unethical, you'll be pleased to know u can choose not to share any files, and obviously nothing is forcing you to download any either, and u can just chat.
naturally there is a frequent stream of irritating people demanding the money for nothing remix (*SIGH*) but there is also a crew of regular users who in the last 6 months have become good friends to me, I get a lot of great music recommendations (which, yes, i DO buy), not to mention good old-fashioned idle timewasting banter

same in here soliptic. i stopped downloading tunes months ago but cant lift off from the psytrance chat. 27 mb wasted RAM for one chat, dammit.
there are good people, as well as these horny traders eagering for every fake available on earth. its much of fun imo. especially when u start to educate ppl bout downloading, its a tomato bash.

There's a lot of trance-oriented channels on various networks. Try joining channels like #psytrance #goa and the likes.
I hang out on both UnderNet and EFNet. There's some Isratrancers in #goa on EFNet.
