GMS Live @ Lust Summer 2008.
Ah GMS! A good classic live set - wait.... is that, no it can't be.... no it IS! Traktor DJ studio.
Nothing live about this set, just another DJ pretending to be something he is not.
GMS responds violently

I saw "GMS" at a festival last year. Actually, only Bansi decided to show up. He played a prerecorded DJ set... twice! We wouldn't have really known it was prerecorded except that he played the exact same tracks in the exact same order in both sets... the only thing different was the cool stage dancing moves and pretend knob tweaks.

you really hate Traktor pro that much? I kind of like it, its different than mixing on the fly, but it also opens a lot of expressive possibilities.
I certainly wouldn't say using Traktor is playing a live PA

who cares about these "dead acts" anyway?
if the music is good I don't care, I used to but am over it.
all music acts are paid on popularity and ability to draw the crowd, not on what they do on stage.
Rock Band B plays better live than Rock Band A, but Rock Band A sold 10 million more cd's so Band A gets paid 10 times as much for said gig.
Simple economics.
Get over it.
such an imature thing to harp on about I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Bigger names CAN charge more money, but it's not a direct correlation to drawing a crowd in the psy scene. Artists also charge organizers more money for a LIVE set rather than a DJ set. So the people/person who paid for the party is essentially getting ripped off.

it's the promoters choice to pay, not the fault of the artits or their manager who said how much it costs.
if the promoter is ripped off then they get what they deserve for not doing their research into who they are hiring properly.
I've always asked acts to send a short vid of their live act, and if they say no for any reason then I'll only offer them the same as a dj will payr or they don't get the gig.
Business is about doing proper research before investing funds, if you fail to do this you get what you deserve.
