is there a reason i dont see a lot of trance artist merchendise? is it too commercial or is it not profitable? Honestly, I'd love to wear a shirt of trance artists or have a patch on a backpack. can anyone give me their opinion on the subject? would you buy merchendise? i'd like to get opinions from artists, labels, and listeners.

i prefer it to be about music and people rather than brand outfits and stickers to be honest... it's this commercialisation that can quickly change a lot of things... and i doubt it would ever change things for the better of it.           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. I would definatly buy t-shirts of my favorite labels and artists.. and the commercialisation can only be a good thing for artists and the scene.. bigger is better..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

rik don't be aware of commercialisation and scene grow because in the end always will be scene underground freaks that we would like , just mainstream will be judged by different rules .

I would buy outfits with label or artist someshit on it ................... i would buy Raja Ram doll in near by supermarket .................. i would put on my wall Son Kite poster , but who will know the person behind it ?

There can't be *Depeche Mode poster without their music to masses with soul came before .

Who will earn money from such shit ?

you can't do such thing if 10000 ppl in the whole world know about person so calculate what percent will be the buyers !

it is too far from do such thing in huge amount when small amount means money loss .
Some labels do have their T-Shirts and other stuff .

* an example

I don't want a t-shirt, patch, backpack, hat, badge, boy-band pose poster, belt buckle, bandana, zippo lighter, ashtray or coffee mug.

Am I missing a social need to advertise my penchant for a particular artist or style of electronic music?

i wouldnt call it advertising when its something you enjoy, like a movie or music. It shows your personality, it doesnt turn you into a ad. I'd call it advertising when you wear brand names. No one can honestly say they enjoy Old Navy (sorry, if its not a popular brand in your country). And besides, if there were shirts, its just one more way to support the artists. am i right?

Is it as advertising to wear a recognised image that has no personal relevance beyond 'I dig what <artist> does'?

Using as examples, Metallica and the KISS Army, the t-shirts amongst other things become a uniform when the collective mass together .. it helps form the perceived identity of the fan base. It's tacky.
It helps the artist at the expense and degradation of the the supporters..
