hi this is seth from spun records just wanted to let you know trance is not dead in us.it might not be like overseas but there are plenty of good things happening in the states
spun will be working with promoters in ny to keep things pumping possibly 1200 mics-hallucinogen-tip party in april in ny and sf
so everyone in us keep up spirits and there will going again soon many stories behind why syntehtic sadhus stopped ,but probably more personal and maybe parties arent 2ooo people like other countries but lots of 6000-1000 all over the place ,keep you dreams alive

This is an international forum,
The country forums are suited to give information regarding the local party scene and other local relevant information - excelent for people that are traveling etc...
The general forum in my taste serves the WHOLE.
A subject such as this is not only a local matter.

I went to a trance night in SF at the DNA Lounge, which is a pretty cool average-sized, venue. Hallucinogen was playing so they obviously get some top acts over there! Unfortunately I found the atmosphere was really crap. Perhaps it was just cos I found it so bizzare that there was no smoking in the club (as per State regulations). I'm sure there are some cool people around but the ones around me seemed a bit uptight and unfriendly. 
Bring back the hippies!! ;-) |

hi:) i live in sf and monthly thump parties in a club do not a trance scene make..its pArt of it sure but there is way more going on than that..a club is well a club@! its difficult to have epic indoors i feel trance is partly about nature..stomping on a beach in a forest the moutnains going thru the madness of the night into the sunrise of the morning...we had an alex grey party here in october and that was a high psychedelic vibration:) but it wasnt a club..many trancefreaks in our scene dont even go to the club gigs...if you do go to a club half the peopel there arent there for the psytrance they are there because its fri/sat of that club...def coming to san fran during the spring summer time is better since there are many outdoors(not many in the brazil,,, summertime europe sense) but many in the we live in the states where antirave bills are popping up all over..they lump psytrance with rave..it doenst matter that we are promotying respect of the nature and love and freedom! how about sending high loving energy vibrations:) big peace!!
