"the path that we have been walking so far is close to an end and if someone won’t do something about it, the feeling that we all share will disappear slowly"
ppl sometimes hate progressive and minimal stuff, that I believe, sometimes, is taking the trance music to a different level... ppl say they want new and fresh stuff, but they keep complaining that trance is losting the goa spirit... it´s hard to keep the goa spirit in the music looking forward to a new direction on music... |

Huh???? Well, I suppose it depends on which country you are in Unknown?? I live in Japan, and there is No....way you could possibly say that Trance is dead! If anything it is in fear of becoming too commercial! But if you're in Britain, I hear that trance is pretty much dead there...shame, as I am from Britain and would like to go home, but am unwilling to go somewhere where the techno has become so commercialised and dj's have groupies!! But that's another subject.... If you are a Goa traditionalist Unknown, then maybe I can see some rationality in your statement,as there isn't much in the way of new goa trance coming out now....that I know of anyway. In which case your comment should have been that Goa trance is dead. But Trance is definately moving in alsorts of directions and splitting of into different sub categories, such as epic, minimal, progressive, etc... there is a HELL OF ALOT OF FRESH STUFF OUT THERE, all the time! Check out stuff like X-Dream and Delta....you can't tell me that's not fresh!! Don't know what Category they'd come under actually....anyone know? I read one persons comment about it being Gothic Trance...which I quite liked. |

Most of the so-called 'new trance' that is produced today is simply a slow beat with electronic scratches and a high hat. How the fuck is that meant to make you dance? This style of music attracts posers and the atmosphere is suffering for it. Emma, I wouldn't say the trane scene is dead in the UK it's just that you've got to look mighty hard for a good night nowadays. Fear not though because up here in Newcastle we run a night of trance interested. Let's make it interesting again people!! |
