Hey guys back in the holy land and in the world, I just joined the forum and I think it is excellent. As you may or may not know the Trance scence in America is very primitive, no where close to what is in Israel, That is probably a good thing I guess, You wouldn't want Infected Mushroom making videos on MTV would you? (Even though Erez would I bet if he had the chance) Anyway, I think that if we were more organized it would be easier to oranize parties which I think is the best aspect of Trance music. I know that where I live, Austin, Texas is considered the live music capitol of America, The club owners are afraid to give Psy-Trance a chance that's why they still stick with shitty house/dance music   (ATB, Alice Deejay you know what I mean).
So the point I was going for in all this endless rambling is that we need a US Section! :)

Unfortunately, the trance scene in the US is really not something one can elaborate about for too much (it basically doesn't exist, with a small exception in the San-Fransisco area, but even there it's not nearly as developed as anywhere in Europe, for instance). Agreed?

Sorry Asaf but I don't agree with u :)
The trance scene in America is on its feet even though it is still just in the beggining we have seen real progress in the last year. In New York there is one huge party at least once a month with synthetic sadhus http://www.synthetic-sadhus.com , and there is defintely a scene in Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto (not US I know), and San Francisco of course. A couple of weeks ago we had the Fuzzion Festival in SF which was on the same caliber of  Boom!, Zambia, and Morrocco, but with American organization (we enjoyed the likes of Mark Allen, Atmos, Anti, Shakta, Bus, James Monroe and many more) See pictures from the festival: http://borealis2000.com/fusion/FrameSet.htm
So we here in the United States will not give up on Trance. And Asaf, I remember 10 years ago people were saying the same thing about the trance scene in Europe, so just give america some time, we are stupid but we aren't deaf :)

Peace

I was in LA a while ago (end of july), and trance-wise it's just dead compared to the more developed trance scenes out there.

SF naturally has a more developed scene (wherever there are hippies and a Goa Gil wandering around you'll get a trance scene :)), but still, in one month, there was only one real outdoor party there (staring GMS, and I'm not counting Moby/Outcast/Orb which actually had seating assignments, and wasn't really trance)...

You just can't compare what's going on in the states (at least the west coast, I don't know about the east) to the rest of the world. It's still a scene in it's very early stages, just starting to develop (where house and techno already have more than a foothold), but it's still not quite there.

I think we should organize a group of DJ's, Groupies and artists (Unknown's the best way to go) to go to the states for one year and give'em a taste of what can REALLY be done. who's with me?

Thanks Shahar,

I have to say that since I joined IsraTrance all my questions have been answered and I have been pointed in the right direction. If you guys are going to be in Austin this week (yeah right) we have a nice meteor shower viewing/ Trance party on a ranch, can I look foward to a guest DJ set by the Evil Drug Lords? :)

U.S. is way behined when you talk about electronic music. I mean even the club scence is bad, There are many clubs who spin house and club trance, but come on, "SandStorm" is still the number one hit.

Its true there are many raves in the U.S., but I never heard any Infected Mushroom, or Astral Projection there.

The only place you can see people like Infected or Astral, is either in N.Y or L.A.

From what I've heard America has only really cottoned on to the real trance scene this year...Give it another year and they'll have caught up!

Especially after the Terror tradegy over there, the peaceful nature of the trance scene will probably be more popular from now on.
That's how the whole trance scene started wasn't it?  The Israeli's started it all in Goa as an escape from the sorrow of war???
If I'm wrong, sorry...but that's what I heard anyway.

I haven't been to any parties in the states, but the TIP crew often play at Sadhus parties, and they said that there is a pretty good vibe....

Seeing pictures of that Fusion festival with tapestries attached to trees and walls reminded me of parties here in Japan 4-5 years ago....when it was still fun!

The whole "getting into trance" bit is because Israelis really keep an open mind to electronic music, and they went to the east and not to london after the army :)

NYC, Philadelphia, DC, Newark, Camden, Trenton, Boston, Bangor, are all starting to develope. i just got back from the 5th goa/psy party theres been in the last week. its not much, compare to Europe, im assuming. but from what ive heard from friends in different cities, that more underground cd stores are popping up, and selling more European stuff. a few nights ago i found a few goa cds at this store called Amixo, down in Center City, Philly. thought it was cool, bought the latest Space Cat, and new Analog Pussy. well. im just trying to say, the scene here is growing, and i have doubts that any goa and psy will be on MTV anytime soon, point being...they are too into rap and all the other pop they have to offer to the young teenagers.
