Hello trance addicts

What do you guys think about trance in europe is for sure a strong movement...but enough to compete with other styles like techno/house/jungle/drum´n´bass/electro???...

Well i don´t think trance will ever compete with other styles like the ones you´ve said becouse the trance industry is not so developed like those ones, they have other kind of background ppl with much more money to invest.
All those kinds of music have more listeners and buyers,it´s a much bigger market, and with much more promotional oportunities.while in my opinion trance is much more underground, and we can almost call like "music for the freaks",with this i want to say that this music don´t have so much money,so much projection,it´s more to a certain group of ppl that is for sure a minority within our world, our movement is still to small to compete with house or techno and i think it´s a bit nice this way.

I don’t agree with you digitalm – that’s at least not the situation here in Denmark.

I wouldn’t call the Danish psytrance scene mainstream, but despite the small size of our country the scene is quite big, and we have big parties (+600people) nearly every weekend. We don’t see that many parties with other styles like elektro, drum’n’bass or jungle – and definitely not of that size.

But of course it varies from country to country. I guess it’s the other way around in England for instance.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

in belgium, party-wise I think the psytrance scene is bigger than drum&bass (size and numers, NOT recordsales.)

techno is still al lot bigger as both scenes mentioned before (large +10.000 people events still happen here every year).

house is a word people used here 10 years ago... i guess we evolved

Depending on the country...here in Spain (sadly ) we are not so many compared with the techno heads.
But that`s the thing you can see this technoheads in house or D&B clubs,no problem
Only the trancers don`t go to anything but trance
