heyo guys!
well im pure israeli but i moved to canada may 2000 and i started to write some trance music using cubase and impulse (the results? no comment...) and i wanted to know if there is someone from toronto that like goa style music like me and would like to create some tracks with me or just listen to some crazy trance

hey man I like goa music, I live in buffalo US, which is like 2 hours from toronto. do you know if there are any goa parties in toronto

alex, I am half an hour away from t.o I love Goa/Psy/Israeli trance and have been making music for years, glad to hear that you are bringing some good energy with you. Sorry there is not too much of a scene here though. The only place in canada with any sort of psy-trance scene is montreal. and even then it is nothing compared to Europe/India/Israel (I only have personal experience of the first two though, I just assume Israel has a good scene)
For some reason, North America sucks for Trance. I think it is cause N.A is the most arrogant egotistical dumbheads of the world.(excuse me for my upsetedness). Trance is a world uniting international music. N.A. is isolationist imperialist place who hate trance because it is equalizing and one-world. N.A only likes house, hip-hop and jungle (they think they invented jungle!?? the nerve!) and I warn you that the occasional trance party in toronto is NOT worth wasting your time/money/eardrums for. They are bad, no-creativity, commercialized clubby things where looking good and doing the dance moves you practiced in front of the mirror come first. I believe the Israeli term is bimbos and arsim??
however, there is one small bar/club that plays some o.k music some times on the weekend, called Area 51.. I haven't been there in a long time.
nazar and alex: there are occasionaly psy-trance parties in toronto in the summer. they are put on by OM, Resonance, and/or The Moonshadow Collective. There are good outdoor parties. OM puts on a three day festival in the summer. There are occasionally outdoor parties right in Toronto on the coast at a place called "Cherry Beach"
Sorry for the rant. I just have dealt with derision for making "Trance" and not "House" or "Jungle" for too long. I love world-pulse-trance and will never give up the positive vibrations. |

Actually, the scene here in Montreal isn't bad at all. In the past 12 months, we've had Talamasca, Cosmosis, X-Dream, Raja Ram and the TIP crew, Astral Projection, Dado, Infected Mushroom, Mino, and probably more. Coming up in the next few weeks are Battle of the Future Buddhas, Chi-AD and Wizzy Noise. About 12 hours south, Tsunami productions in NYC throw huge parties ever so often. Toronto had the huge WEMF last summer, Hallucinogen was there. Summer is real nice, if you can make the drive to Quebec, there's the Natura outdoor party. 3 days and nights of psytrance in the canadian woods.
You know what the catch is? The ice, snow and -20 degree weather. Yuck.
