Well and what happened with respect? Isn't it one of the most important foundations of our commumity? Or our respect varies by the size of other man's wallet?

Israeli trance have never been psychedelic. It's fluffy mainstream pop that's being copied by israeli "artist" no. 5002. And the best in the world. Nahhhh not by a long shot! Well maybe to 12 years olds just finding out there's something called "trance".
And now to another point!
Trance = to get into a state of trance. I dont think one full on artist from Israel or for that matter the rest of the world manage to create music that put people into trance. Few bands do that and they are way more repetetive and deep. Full on is all about fluffy melodies and rolling babslines. POP and nothing else than POP. Hardly anything to do with trance.

Pavel, should i bump my respect thread again
But seriously though, you can't deny the fact that most music coming out of israel right now is not as good as it used to be, and pretty much all sounds the same... Im sorry to say... |

HandA mate u rink of envy, its about time u stop looking for fights and concentrate in ur own stuff, perhaps a new better and more psychedelic style coming from u would be good or just a new track ey?
back to topic...
Israeli trance is good but u gotta be more opened and embrace the other countries who also have very good artists and different style of trance. I wouldnt say iraeli trance is the best i would say 'psytrance as whole is the best'.

My opinion - most isratrance is BORING. just hearing 3 "Israeli" tracks (yes, they all sound the same) is enough to send me home with a yawn.
We do have a small mafia of amazing music, with Tsabeat, NTD and their friends, making real psychedelia, and something you can acutally call "trance".
Bom Suomi and good luck to the real psychedelic artists.
Keep that prototypical "Israeli" sound out of my head, please.

The only one's looking for a fight is you.
Could it be that it's my honest opnion and that I am not looking for a fight? And envy? I doubt it. I am very happy with what I do of music today! And no I am not into psy anymore but I think I am still entitled to have an opinion no matter if you like it or not!
Amazing how it's so taboo to say what you think in this forum without having some uptight person all over your back. There's plenty of other people in this thread who said the same as i did. I dont see you attack them! |

I don't like most of the Israeli stuff nowadays. But do i need to like the most? If i like 3,4 releases a year and i buy them, don't you think it's fair enough? And respect is not just a word. It's one of the things that make the difference between humans and animals.
np:/ BLT & Danny Makov - Mind the gap. And i dare anybody of you telling me it's not psychedelic enough.

People tend to treat the term "Israeli trance" as a genre. I don't, just to make it clear- for me and for this website Israeli trance is trance made in Israel.
Of course like any community, Israel has common characteristics, and so does music coming out of it. A lot of trance coming out of Israel shares a feeling, as does trance coming from Germany or Sweden, etc. But still, there is and always was a diversity in trance music coming out of Israel.
In the last years we've been swept by commercial trance music, music which has modern pop characteristics. As modern pop I define music that is formulated, catches you fast and you get tired of it real fast (and so supposed to buy more of it, or these days, download more of it). A lot of trance made today is just like that. This is of course felt best in the full on genre, which dominates these days, but not only. Israel being such a dominator in world of trance music, it has taken a big part in that, but I don't think this is something unique to Israel, I notice this in most releases landing in my CD player, and they're coming from all over the world.. This is in part caused by the realization of trance artists and labels that in order to keep doing this when they are getting a bit older, they have also to make money and not just smoke chillums. Or in other words: the hippies lost again Face it. Commercialism won over the trance culture which emerged originally as an alternative to it (even if not a conscious one).
So yes, like most trance releases these days, I find most Israeli trance releases these days boring. But, and it's a big but, I don't think that this gives me any right to say I'm better or more evolved than people who dig it, and think it is great. It is a matter of taste and personality as well, and no point arguing about that really.
I do think that most trance made these days is totally not psychedelic, and this applies more to trance made in Israel than to trance made in Europe, which tends to be more monotone and more trance inducing. I also has to do with the production (and I'm going a bit out of my field here, so excuse me if I'm not using the right words), which following Infected Mushroom, as a lot of full on acts tend to do, is sharp clean, always on the spot, always spotless, this for me produces a sound which is very un-psychedelic.
However, we must remember that a lot of the people going to trance parties do not really go into a trance state of mind, for which monotone music is very helpful, maybe even necessary, but use other means to reach other states of mind. I personally think it's a shame so few try, as a clean trance state of mind is really something great, and quite safe as well.
However, I do not think that fluffy melodies, or any emotional melodies, are not psychedelic and necessarily mean pop music, there are amazing melodic full on trance tracks with powerful emotion charge and very trance inducing and psychedelic.
To end it, I must say again, that there is a lot of diversity in trance made in Israel, and there are a lot of very educated people, that are searching new directions and trying to make new different things. We should support them.

Has it been a long time since Israel released good psy music or has it been a long time since you looked?
Well, look again:
ND, AKD, Yuli's proggy project, Itay Taiko.
A lot of very good chill is coming from Israel too lately.
I think it is very narrow-minded to say that if the biggest sellers in some country are sub-par in your opinion, that means that there is no good music coming out of that country. In fact, the biggest sellers will always be sub-par in most people's that appreciate good music minds.
Look at what graces the shelves of music stores in North America, and then tell me that there is no interesting music coming out of the States and Canada. pfff
