yes, it definetelly has some effect on how ppl dress...
On the other hand, its not a commercial thing (like with designer labels, and advertising and stuff like that...) so I dunno if fashion is the right word for it....
On the other hand...Now in Portugal I see lots of clothing in shops like Zara and stuff like that, wich are quite similar to party clothes, its fashion now to use like dark clothes with fluo bright lines, and stuff like that, for non-trance listeners. I wonder if that was influenced by the party ppl! Now that would be mad... |

Cyberdog... Psylo... Space Tribe... Psywalker... Battery Organic... and the rest. There's definitely a fashion thing going on with some people. And loads of this stuff is UV/fluoro so it looks the good at parties, so it is designed with parties in mind... so... Trance does have an effect on fashion I guess.
Myself, I just wear what's comfortable for dancing. Just the usual jeans/combats/t-shirts/hoodies I'm afraid, nothing too exciting!

Is it an identity?
I understand that the underlying motivation is love.. but some people get stuck in that maybe stereotyped identity where we smoke chilums wear funny clothes and say bom shankar?
I dont intend to question anyone or their lifestyle but i have found this at times with certain people(usualy younger)
I went to a psy shop wearing a suit once and was looking for cds.... it was quite a funny experience.. The lady at the shop was conviced that i didnt belong there.

Fashion add colours to the music.. specially the trippy designs ..colourful outfits not really suitable to wear in real world. ..infact i'd say trance fashion clothing is a part of culture. |

Thats really just up to u. I used to be wear much more psy fluo clothes than I do nowadays, but I never changed the way I looked from party to real world....
Whats suitable or not to wear depends on who you are, not the others around you...my opinion... |

mmm, dont know if my boss would be very happy if i came in wearing the clothes that i would go to a party with.
Im sorry but in this world people judge you by the way you are dressed look etc (apperances) some people say fuck it and keep on dressing the way they want, but hey i cant afford that i need money and i need a job that can pay my bills so i need to dress 'normal' in my day to day life. I even had to cut my hair the other day for the simple fact that my boss said 'If you dont cut that mop you might as well not bother coming in tomorrow' so what did i do? cut my hair short
sad but true.

Yeah, but thats diferent, its a job requiring a certain type of dressing. You are giving the image of the company, and if you want to keep working there you need to output the image they want for the company....its not u who set the rules....

Yes, I know what you mean, society imposes some "normality" rules, and If you brake those rules, you're seen as an outsider and might not be accepted.
But 'Normal' is quite an abstract definition, and a very personal one....
But for me 'normal' is who I am, I'm not changing because I don't fit the general sense of normality lol And if I am accepted I want it to be for what I am, not for what I pretend to be.
In a job its a diferent scenario, as your role is not to represent yourself, but the company you are working for.
That was a major factor when I was deciding carreer oportunities/university degree etc, to have a career where I could be myself, but thats just a personal thing...
Anyway, this is 100% |

I dont think trance has a certain fashion style and I dont agree you can identify psytrance listeners from their clothes. if you go to a trance gathering, you will see that there are many things going around. there are very much colorful people as well as people who just wear ordinary clothes. in the colorful people, you can see a lot of variety. people are just creative and do all sorts of crazy stuff on what to wear. you cannot identify one sort of fashion that is a trance one.

dress the way you want.....screw others' opinions screw what the society has to say
i dont care much for what other people say i do just what i want i hate the norms prevalent in society everthing has a particular waymanner in which it is to be done in society which is what i hate....
everything is so concerned about the image they convey to people that they start doing things for other people to approve of them

you can not tell who goes to parties in the streets of NZ. we are not real big statement makers and just feel comfy in "normal" clothes |
