Been watching the new Minilogue- Animals- The Movie (review soon) and was thinking do DVDs in our kind of music really make sense.

There are few kinds-
Festival DVDs- Boom / The Gathering etc.
Documentaries- Karahana / Ptzatzot Baderech Lesof Haolam etc.
Live performances- Son Kite
Eye Candy with music

Interesting to know your thoughts and experiences and what you liked / disliked about DVDs you saw.

I love it! But for me it have been quite some time since some really interesting releases...

The best festival movie ever (vhs only): Solipse 2001 Zambia! Its such a great video, wich captures the spirit of the festival, mostly focus on preparing/planning and then the dancefloor.. I love seeing the dancefloor action, dont care about looking at the dj (here they have done it right, no boring parts)...

Also very amazing video work, best festival video out there (and what location and work!!)... IMHO

Then the amazing:

Liquid Crystal Vision (dvd): A great guide to the psyscene.. With lots of great interviews, music and ideas.. Also the effects are really good and fits perfectly... A must have !!

For eyecandy dvds, i have some, but i really dont use them/watch them often.. See one time and then done, really..

If more interviews/party footage/etc had been compiled it would be much more interesting (like the planned party dvd series Twemo - sadly delayed for loong time and then only one release... Looked very nice with reports from all over the world... Also good interviews..)

So for me, more is welcome.. But only visual dvd i dont know if i will buy again (have to be somethign really special then...)            3o~ kriz aka krize 3o~ ....Horrordelic Records.... http://www.horrordelic.com

Watched Boom 08 DVD.. made complete sense.

It is more about what went into making raw land into BOOM FESTIVAL. The concepts behind everythin they offered at this edition, about Music, Nature, Trance, Gathering of tribes, performing arts & culture, food & hygiene, safety etc. The DVD covers everything, so its pretty cool, specially for the creative ones who want to learn more about what goes into making such a huge project successful.           We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.

I'd rather watch trance DVDs when I wanna chill out in the living room, than be subjected to all the media terror/brainwashing that goes on the TV channels.

Got a few myself, Boom 04 and Twisted Anniversary and love them very much. What I'd really like though is a 5.1 Surround DVDs like the BT DVD I have. The visuals are stunning and the music in 5.1 is a pure bliss.
In the other hand I'd like a Psy Trance Blu Ray Disc. Now that would be a treat... Maybe a Shpongle Blu Ray? 1080p Video with 192Khz Audio DTS Master Audio.
Bring it on!

I often envision an eye candy-like 'music video' while listening to particular tracks.
I always like Hujaboy's music video The People vs. Hujaboy (http://www.isratrance.com/Video.php) and I don't know why it hasn't been done more often.

Some tracks would be awesome music for a visual story and I actually have plans in the works for this.

As for documentaries, I'm still looking for the right one that I would want to show non-trancers as an introduction. So far they all either lack something or show something that I'd rather not be shown.
After all, if I say I'm into something, I want the documentary to accurately show what I'm into. I'm just picky like that.
I did play the Karahana video for my family and that was ok.

The 5.1 audio is what im after too. It takes the audio experience to a whole new level.

They should release 5.1 Psytrance DVD-Audios/SACD's. Its expensive so do only the biggest hits/classics. But give us something worthwhile.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"
