which software do you find most compatible for making trance tracks ... and compliment the psychedelic sounds .
Logic platinum ? Reason ? Nuendo ? Cubase Sx ? or frooty loops?

Or it is a combination for more than one for an optimum output ?

this doesnt depend on the software imho. u can make trance with cubase as good as any other music. i like nuendo the most, because its more stable than cubase, and i dont get any export errors with it. fruity loops is nice tool if u know it exactly. when u are really into this software, u can take all the evil out of it. but as soon as u start to work with "more proffessional" software, u'll see that fruity is only fun program. IMHO again! cheers          Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

Most Trance producers AFAIK use SX.
Logic isn't friendly enough i think.
Reason is good for synthesis and sampling.
Fruity Loops?
I heard that Krumelur uses it.
That's the only one.
BTW Check the isratrance artist database. Some of the artists were kind enough to unveil their studio gear.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

...logic isnt friendly enough ?!? ...what should it do ? -bring some coffe ? =(-;
...logic is very userfriendly...
a big advantage of cubase is that it has bether integration of vst-plugs...
...and logic won t become further developed for pc (...though 5.51 is pretty nice ). and many artists are doing noise audio only...( vst )

...each person has preferences, very important is to get a tool whith which u feel comfortable to work with...to start, fruity or reason are very good...

bomski, happy tuning           experiment !

dont think so....start with the one u heard is the best. if u start with fruity loops f.e. (like i did) and you see that u got talent and want to change software, changing will be harder then. so better learn a bit more at the start and go directly to nuendo/cubase/logic.

Since trance is a loop-based music, Fruity Loops will be the best choise. But soon you will discover that Fruity Loops is very limited in options, and you'll move to a better program like Cubase or Logic.

So, make your choice...

I agree with medirium, it's a question of confort and personality, if you want to produce some " full stuff" sooner or latter you will use Fruity and Reason ( like instruments, sinthesis, sampling ) a wave editor ( Wavelab,soundforge...), and a main squencer like Logic audio (very nice, especial if you use external machines, but try to get some first), Cubase Sx (more intuitive and easy to go, and special with plug_ins(vst, vst_i)!!!           Electric foundation navigator

you can use nuendo and reason with rewire.
it works really nice.
you can use all the power of reason and record waves in real time with nuendo .
you can rewire nuendo with cubase . but it works better with nuendo.

I use Cubase SX because

1. Reasons softsynths doesn't impress me much
2. Logic is very unstable with my soundcard, and they've stopped developing it for Windows.
3. I don't like FL's interface

my 5 cents

I think it is better start using what you think will fit best your objectives.

I think using Logic or Cubase can be a little hard, but they are the best, and if you wanna do something more than just have some fun, go and learn what will give you more possibilities.
Reason is a good tool, but the possibilities and facilities that Logic and Cubase give to you to work on the sound are higher.

Anyway, i think it is all about getting used to them.
