Trance: Coherent or abstruse ?

How do you like the music to be, what kind is your favorite music,is there a conjunction, is it easy flowing or random meaningless individual sounds?
What helps you reach your state of trance better? Which succeed to please your ears and soul better?
There are artists that no matter how many sounds they put together they succeed to create a sequence in the meaning and others that no matter how few sounds they use they dont succeed that, i hope you get what i mean, the opposite can happen too, in example and my personal preference, Kino Oko who succeeds with few sounds to create a deep and warm meaning which fulfills me of course much more than some meaningless stuff with many sounds that tries to fill my head with information that leads to nowhere
Is it a matter of maturity, is it a matter of knowledge, is it a matter of talent or all together. Is that the factor that distinguish the "best" from the modest?

A bit of all I guess. While music production is a largely technical process, the only way music is infused with a soul is by sprinkling that little bit of ingenuity and genuine playfullness over a composition. And that ultimately has to do with talent/insight/maturity...... |

i believe that too, you are right. Even in the most mad music you can find a gentle touch and kind approach, smooth transitions and tails, harmony complex, or not, but so much pleasant.. it needs time

its all together, like twister says. the harmonic sequence imo is the main "vain" in a track, knowledge and maturity are two equal and important parts of what we call music making. |

for me, even with faster bpm, my favourite kind of music construction is a progressive one ... slowly building up to the climax ... some artists even have a huge technical approach to the music but fail to satisfy my ears and soul ... such as the new stuff from switch bliss cpu and the nutek folks ... lots of samples, crystal clear sounds, immense technique but no coherence imo ... not suitable to listen in a party ... perhaps at home with the right mood

The only kind of abstruse trance that I like and makes sense to me as "dissonant music", is the tech stuff, X-Dream, Spirralianz, Midimilliz with all them weird distorted, harsh, dissonant loops and drones.
Nothing that I have heard from the new fast mad stuff, succeeds in that manner.
I like coherent stuff, but I don't like the already chewed up and ready to swallow melodies that are abundant in the israeli and south african tunes that I have heard anyway.
From back in the day, the british, the frenchies and some scando people, had the right balance. Some of them still maintain that balance, which is the best one for me, today.
