I know that trance music has never taken off in the USA/North America as in Europe. All of Europe loves TRANCE music. Germany is without doubt the world's capital of trance music.
But, do we in the US/Canada have a capital? I do know that the West Coast trance scene is much to be desired. San Francisco has ironically one of the WORST trance scenes in North America, considering the fact that the city believes to have "all things progressive."
The Midwest scene is aslo virtually non-existant as well.
That leaves us NYC or Miami,
I've been to NYC several times and have yet to discover anything exciting in the trance community. For a city of that magnitude and diversity, you'd think it would have one of the most thriving scenes on the planet. WRONG!!! I must add that its trance scene is bigger than any scene on the West Coast or Midwest. Also, no Canadian city to my knowledge is known to have a dynamic trance scene.
I never visited Miami, but does it have the most dynamic trance scene in US/North America? Maybe, I answered my own question, but I need some input and possibly corrected if I am misinformed in any way.
Finally, why don't North Americans appreciate the celestial beauty of trance music. Have they gone mad? Has their hearing gone bad? Or do they just have very poor taste? I can't tolerate any other forms of music but trance (except for classical and sacred religious).
Cheers to everyone,

dude, if you "know" all this then why are you even asking? Have you even been to the west coast? There are some awesome things happening in all the cities you mentioned, especially SF. In LA we also have a nice scene going on. I also don't think that this is a competition. Every city is doing its own thing, and hopefully we are all in this together. I for one am SO happy that trance has not hit the mainstream here in the US. That will be a sad day. |
