Unfortunately the psy-scene is deeply entrenched in drugs & this is the reason why the authorities will always have a problem with it.

Well here in Holland every summer/year there are many commercial parties festivals such as Dancevalley, Extrema etc. with more then 40.000 visitors... with each year a couple of deaths, and because it's commercial and sponsored by Coca Cola, Pepsi etc they never will persuite this movement as the psymovement.
So the use of drug is not the main reason for them, I know so many festivals (rock, house, dance) where the drug abuse is much more elevated then in psyparty. I think the main reason is the fear of free thinking people and as already said a combination of hippies, people who tries to be even for some time out of the system they can not tolarate.
