This is not an attack, but just wondering what global mind expansion you've gained after 12 years of psychedelic trance?
I would think you'd be a lot more open, or at least understanding and accepting and not leave a shit on a topic.

of course allz personal, but keep in mind theres a lot of people who are also influenced by psychedelia but chooses a different type of sound, structure, perception to express and experience it with. one of the great characteristics that you cannot box "psychedelic" into just it can be created only with trance or techno or whatever `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

I have to agree with rich (as I usually do ).
One of the saddest things about our culture, is that it became so structured.
I often wonder why people do psychedelic drugs to have the same experience again and again... To stick to formulas.... I mean, if you're gonna do that, might as well stay home and watch TV.
And Moki, I didn't mean to offend you, sorry if I did. I was just suggesting that you open your mind, don't stick to preconceptions and check your roots (they're all techno, and a lot of them are extremely psychedelic).

no the roots are not exactly techno. it is one thing to have a shaman drumming one and the same beat and tripping on a psychedelic journey to the ancestors, it is a totally another thing to have electronic music with its UNIMAGINABLE VARIETY of sounds and possibilities and effects. the second case is first of all not as much connected to the nature as the drum of the shaman - the drum is made of natural material, have one also, love drumming and sticking into rythmic cycle but it is a totally different thing cause it is out of nature. and the sound of techno is not out of nature, even if you take cilicium as a natural material from which we make the chips of the computer, it is still no natural. so you cannot compare it to the roots.
and sorry but i have by no means had experiences till now that showed me any connection of a techno party to a real ancient tribal gathering, although i also have friends who do techno, especially one that has also wrote lots of books on that, and i guess, for ppl like that the techno party is the sacred temple but it is just not mine.
is this not open minded enough for you? well anyway may be at least in the chill out rooms we are one even if we have different ways of trancing.

TRUE, the bass lines are not 1/16 rolling killllarghs but the story, sounds and atmosphere is way more intelligent and mind expanding than most trance these days....
There is so much Minimal, Techno, Dubstep, Breaks etc. and a million more electronic and instrumental music that is "psychedelic"...
people heads are not psychedelic, expanded and open enough...

Yes, Techno is Psychedelic and was so years before Goa emerged from it.

i seem to have mistaken the scene even more than i thought at the beginning of my posting here!!!!!!!!
i am sorry to abuse your tastes. ( not so sorry though, but i try to be polite). what was played 10 years ago and was maybe psychedelic does not have to be psychedelic now. because the equipment from those days had not such a big variety of possibilities as today, and what was done in those days was maybe the breaking of the borders for that time, but it is not breaking the borders anymore. i am sure techno was a big thing at the beginning of the 90ies. but it doesnt make it a big thing for our standards.
and yes sexuality is nice. i really believe that dark psy is nowadays the sub scene with the most sexual appeal. it is weird and evil and speaks to the sexual sensations whereas techno does not. and even if the ppl there are very sexual on pills, it is not the music that makes them such. i dont have the time right now to see the whole lecture of videos, if i have, i will come back but anyway. i think you totally distort the meaning of mind openness. to me it means a totally different thing.
but ok, lets put it like that, i ve been playing the piano for 20 years and i just like to hear music, notes, variety. techno is not such. same with progressive. but actually in comparison to techno, i could say that i would even love to here prog in comparison to techno. pfff. buah.

yes? no? anyway. this forum teaches me at least one thing. i seem to have a different opinion on every topic that i touched. pretty much of landing from the sky here on isratrance. may be the trance scene is really really not what i thought. may be it is time to retire. or just spend the rest of the days on earth alone with my distorted visions. anyway as i said have fun doing music. if techno, then techno. if this is what makes you happy. who am i to judge.

No need to retire... perhaps you just need to remember that your opinions about what the scene is, or should be, are just that - your opinions, not the 'facts'. Perhaps you also need to realise that many of us who have been involved in the scene for many years (nearly 15 years in psytrance for me, and I've been making psychedelic music since 1987/8) have put into action what we've been talking about since 1995 and OPENED OUR MINDS - and realised that psytrance is just one facet of the glittering diamond that is the world of psychedelic music.

Well of course. If you give your opinion about something on the largest international trance forum in the world, you're bound to get a reply from someone who disagrees with you. It doesn't mean you're wrong (except when you say that Goa Gil is a sadhu ), or that they're wrong it just means that you both have different opinions. The world - and the psytrance scene - is big enough to encompass lots of different opinions, as long as you remember that your opinion does not define how everyone else should think and see things.

have to agree with ocelot there , subgenres names sux.
this sounds more like slow trance then techno to me , full TB303 mayhem.. somewhat like GNOTR in slow motion..
where is the spray can sounds.. where is the electronic annoying tomtom .. where is the white noize raising.. and where is 2 minutes of kick bass in solo lol...
