hey guys thx for answering , but i think you really needed too many words to say one simple thing:
1 i
2 do
3 not
4 know

5 you didn't read the post: "anyone here has personal experience using traktor pro 2 : loop recording and sample decks?"
6 so it was obviously not adressed to you both, even if i appreciate your hints

Audiomidi.com has a nice sale going on for traktor 2 + interface... check this out.

I have had experience with Traktor, and prefer cdj's. That said, there are lots of people who love Traktor. Best thing is, go check it out yourself !!!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

I use T2 since the release of it and i guess i have some experience now

1) Sample decks are synced to the master tempo.
2) Make a loop and drag the deck down to one of the sample slots, it will load it and save it to your sample library.
3) Yes its possible, check your mappings in the controller manager.

4) I didn't read it either, trial and error is the best way for obtaining knowledge.

1) thx, duly noted
2) i had imagined it (and tried too), but the problem seems to be rather a routing issue since using external mixer, but found already on the manual indication for appropriate fx send/return routing just have to try it
3) i'm afraid not, i'm quite familiar with the midi mapping process from studio 3 (i formerly used an evolution uc 33 midi controller with studio 3, therefore mapped from the ground my own setting).
on pro2 you can actually map to midi controller the tempo fader but not the + - buttons at the bottom of the tempo fader in "min" mode( right click with mouse on the buttons to switch between modes) way to have increase/decrease in 0.01 units, it always increases/decreases higher values (=~0,10-0,20)

thx for your reply

for loop recording with external mixer is it necessary to physically route channels or is there anyway to do this inside the soundcard?

coz i'll end up rerouting an out to an in in the same hardware mixer, would that not create feedbacks or static accumulation?

How many ins and outs do you have on your soundcard?

i've sorted it out i routed the fx send 1 to a channel of the mixer/analog entry soundcard, so i'm also able to select what i want to "loop record" and control the gain of the recorded signal...

but still i have a chinch cable coming out and coming back into the same mixer, and i somehow don't feel that good about sort of routing
