Quite simply a horrible story.
Nevertheless, thanks for bringing it to everyones attention, I feel very bad for the people who have to live in that place, big respects to the ones who have the courage to keep the culture alive in face of such dire consequences.

Surely a bad story but what do you expect? You go to a Country that is known for it's widespread corruption, violence and dictatorship. People have to be aware of these facts when they travel the world chasing the next party. Is i ok what happened.. NO.. Was it expected... YES.
And pinkE.... It has nothing to do with the "oh our poor scene once again hit by bad authorities - They want all bad to happen to us"... They could not care less what they hit... As long as it gave them some money in the end. The news crew tagged along to make a false documnetary so it was justified. I am sure they also reported about massive drugs or other criminal activities in those bars they raided. So again they did not raid the party because they was against the music and thought it to be the devils music (as some other authorities seem to think). They did the raid because they saw an opportunity to steal some money and other goods. They are simply common corrupted thieves.
The point is. These things should not happen BUT do happen. Espeially in such countries So think a little before you go off to every small corner in the world and do drugs and party. It does not take much to know that there are places less safe than other places in this world.

well actually you have missed the point apperantelly... it makes it much easier for them to make such corruptions in events which have illegal activities going inside such as drugs consumption and then to jutify it with the media reporters around.. and these stuff can also happen in europe where they have specific laws against raves (especially in England) or sweden where they have a special police force agains raves but also the european union is set on the goal to stop all this rave culture (more the free parties)in this cheq tek 2005 festival there were 1000 police officers who shot tear gass and fire hoses on the people and offcourse bit the crap of many people who caused the death of one person and many other injuries... also n the road to the festival waited many police cars who turned back every person who looked suspicious which means dreadlocks, tattoos and coulred hair eventough the festival organisers had permissions and everthing... and I was also giving examples from Israel, where civil rights are being overlooked many times by the police and it is much easier to do so when u r up against a person who goes to a rave or a festival than other activity like a rock concert for example...
so ys Guatamala is probably more dangerous than other countries but civil and human rights are till being violated especially in this scene, and this stuff can happend in many other places... it is much easier to do it though when it is in an already forbidden activity... not like in a rock concert for xample

It's a shame, and makes me sad read such a terrible thing.
I hope anybody got TOO injured.
And I do agree with pinkE.
This is a matter of civil and human rights.
These fuckers just saw a good opportunity to steal some cash, some drugs to sell/use, and to beat the shit out of people, they consider "hostile".
Sad to hear this...

really really sad story.. im truly tnxfull that boti could cover up for me and wiched he all the best he could have, and this shit happens.. also for the organisers and the rest of the ppl that help..
but as my ticket´s still availible for a hole year i will for sure come and play a set over there some other times.. keep up the good work and lots of hate to the police over there!

Sorry 2 hear this Boddhi....incredible but what to do...can't say much more then "welcome to latin-america" bro....I didn't leave for no reason 'cause this kinda spirit is even part of the psytrance scene in many places. Poverty, jealousy, corruption and other sad facts are a daily experience in such places and I am glad to be back in Europe, although here it is going down rapidly also if you ask me....anyway...hope ur next experiences will be better bro...goodluck !

this is really bad to hear indeed!
I'm organising a Mexico tour for some of my artists and I had just confirmed a booking in Guatemala for 23/12 a couple of days before this happened... we were getting quite excited to go, but unfortunately now the organiser has to cancel because of these events 
anyways, I wouldn't have wanted to end up in a situation like this, bad shit... I hope the Guatemala scene can recover fast!!
I'll be there in January anyways and wouldn't mind checking out a party...
