I'm crossposting this on the 'ambient and chill' forum, hope Justin doesn't crucify me.. lol.
I need some recommendations in light of an event I'm DJ'ing soon, it's traditional Japanese-themed, tea, kabuki, etc..
I am aware of the better-known Japanese artists like DJ Krush, Susumi Yokota (!!), Rei Harukami, Ryoji Ikeda, but none of them make anything remotely connected with the traditional Japanese sounds (plucky strings, taiko drums, and such).. just curious if there anything out there like that. I am told Bjork's new album is heavily influenced by traditional Japanese music, but only heard clips so far.
so, any recommendations?
..it's just another party.. |
