Hello Israforum!
Pureuphoria is back after summer holydayz, entering a season with new projects, ideas and vibes.
We are looking for people to be involved in 'fun of making' our next VA-release. There are several concepts to choose from(depends on the quality/quantity of the material that will be recieved).
the main one is: "VA - Freekey Underground"
Style: Morning, Psychedelic, Hypnotic, Forest, Dark, Deep.
BPM:140-156.
Deadline: 31.10.13
Last, but not least: this is gonna be a Free release. Because we think it is FUN!
All the Artists will be rewarded in one way or another.

its hilarious how you name a VA without even knowing what to release,
this is exacly how a label shouldnt procede...
this is what is killing music, this kind of lameness...
you want a VA for what? whats the purpose? selling? it will not sell...
because you like the music? but are you the one who chose the tunes? are you expecting to have good tracks behaving like this??
you imagine good artists to desperadly contact you to release on your VA and having this any sucess??
this is not the way dude...
if you want to release music or have a label you should have strong ideals, strong concept about what you want to release, then its your duty to search for whatever sound your targeting and try to convince artists to colaborate with you...
but this "contact us to release" thing... is horrible...
this shouldnt happen, and its only happening because industry is completly lost this days...
but IMO this is not only a reflex of lack of proffit, its also a lameness and lack of mentality, because i have seen Netlabels run by some people who actualy does stuff well, they promote well the artists, they chose carefully the material they want to release...
and thats it.... you should keep in mind that releasing music should be a very serious, and today with so much shit being released...
i really wonder why there are still "contests" like this...
do they worth it? are you promoting anyone??
if you have in mind a concept of sound, PLEASE; just PLEASE, wast some foking hours searching for sound you like on soundcloud, there are thousands of talented new artists out there that just are too busy to not be on foruns... and they will likely even be happy for you to contact them and invite them to be on a compilation... but dont do this...
this is a disgrace, most people who will reply to your call its not ready or have quality to release or worth the listening.. (just saying...)

ricciardo what's your problem bro? i saw many label posts really worst than this, it sounded to me nice how he asked for some tunes, the release is FREE as it's written( so no selling, do you fucking know how to read???), and maybe this is also a way to promote new artists that still practising or unknown. everybody asked me directly a track for the compilation, and even neon(the guy that made this post) asked me directly for a track some time ago; but if i find a post like this, asked in a good way and not egocentric or whatever, i'm happy to give him a tune, really happy. stop to be the release music teacher coz it makes only sound you like an asshole. |

Ricciardo , there are many questions you're asking, I think I'll be able to answer just one of them, the most reasonable one...
Why did we make this topic? (and didnt just contact artists directly): I understand your concerns, but still think that you're over-reacting. We collect demos in many different ways, by contacting directly, via friends-network, e.t.s...and among that - also from forums. I dont see any problem with that at all. It is a call to the ARTISTS, and you maybe went to fast on judging.
I dont know your background...are you an Artist?
I simply cant understand what made you reply in such manner)
I personally enjoy the process of making a compilation, with people who are also enjoying their creativity. If you want to discuss music-market tendensies and creative process - you're welcome to get in touch by PM. Lets not turn this thread into wars and meaningless descussion.

There is 'certain' inflation in the number of VA's of any kind out there. But I think it's the responsibility of the listener to be able to find the gems amongst the rocks. The fact that there are so many good FREE releases is enough to let anyone have a go at it. It's in fact a very democratic progress in the music-'industry' that anyone can reach everyone. So please stop the elite-ego-'the true artist must be found and doesn't search because he's too busy being a god'-bullshit. There is no 'right' way, for a VA there's just a subjective good selection or a bad selection, that's it. We decide, for free...

i was not being an elitist, and i was even less saying they should not release a VA because there are too much...
what i said was pretty objective and simple:
if you do want to have a label, than is almost as personal as being an artist, you should keep the releases restricted and search for music instead of wait for people to contact you offering you demo´s
Everyone is upset because i am ruinning the "moment" of some newbies who see in this kind of oportunity the "golden" chance to say to their friends they will be featured on a V/A, "good promotion" they say...
well, there arent better promotion than good music, but i already explained whats wrong in the concept of having a "contact us to release label kind"
its lame, even if its a foking Free V/A, where is the love of it? where is the determination of someone in select carefully a the list and deliver it, free or not, thats not the subject, its the same with other labels...
and what i written it doesnt resctrict to this case, unfortunaly...

I think this VA can be better with fresher sound than many VA's released by large labels using tracks made by well known artists that are very similar and sometimes boring.
I'm really disappointed that someone here see a problem when label owner wants to give a chance for new producers
Many labels at their web page says that you can send demos to them. So what is wrong with putting this on the forum?

Give the guy (pureuphoria) a break.
Not many people started by releasing on Nano or any big label of your choice.
He is looking for music and wants to look into new talent that has not been heard before.
Some people where complaining that labels don't care about forum producers.
So this guy does.
God knows there is some shit released by more established labels and artists, so why knock this label?
If you don't like it, you don't hear it/buy it.
But you never know which unsigned dude will get some more inspiration by releasing his music and focusing more on writing and producing that might help them to write some great tunes.
