Yeah but keychanges are a boring tool for when you run out of ideas but want more length:P! Just kidding they can be quite emotional.
I think the whole starting off with a minimal scale and building it up to a more intricate one is a much more deepening effect, which is nice for progressive style build structures and I want more people to do this . Do it now! |

Infected mushroom are one of the only groups I've heard that employ key changes in their psy tracks. Have a listen to
- bust a move
- scorpian frog
- ratio shmatio
Also in vicious delicious and before (off the new album) the opening sections are in one key and the rest is in another. |

Actually a lot of tracks use modulation from minor to phrygian in psy and also to relative major, and harmonic minor. but thats not really really real modulation. I havent analysed any infected though. |

a simple example:
Shiva Shidapu - India Spirit
the ending has a nice melody which modulates to another scale (exacly same melody, just in another scale)

in an old track of mine I used scale changes a bit different...
I dont remember the exact keys, but I used like 4 keys every 8bars...it was like, lets say first 2bars f minor, next 2 e major, then 2bars f# minor and 2 d # major
it made the whole track a bit weird, but it fit and u dont recognize it when u re not a pro
