i've heard aussies have nice habbit of
demos/tracking competitions:
people get sponsored [place & time and advertisment ...this is the hardest thing]
and make a day of realtime trackers competitions -
the participants come over and get tasks (
demo track, trance track or whatever out of given samples banks) [CDs]
there's a group called "jury" made of a few who know how, and some1 can be a star who began with trackers [impulse/fast/scream etc..]

this can be a really cool event with prices and TV coverage etc. ... the rewards can be ... software/hardware or contracts with game companies or something more serious...

guys/girls, tell me what you think ....i don't know if this issue fits this forum ... but anyway.
you're the judges.

Philip, i don't remember it .... remind me when was the last time ?
(and i don't mean "virtual" competitions @united-trackers.org or @modarchive.com)
and where has it gone ?

anyway, let's revive it.

Sounds really cool to me. I wish it was possible to arrange something like this here.

yhe 1st stage would be a page with counter.
to count all the artists that woud like to participate... this would give an idea of how to think of how big the place should be,
what styles should we include in the competitions,
what program to use during the competition, etc. etc. etc.
then we can turn to recording companies who want to promote themselves, to other artsts ...
jury - it's not problem : we have here a bunch of well known and less known talents.
we can think of prices/rewards ... i don't know ... audio cards :) or software..

hmm i'm talking we and we ....now seriously:
who would spend some of his time for trance community ?

Marcus it's not like this. it is "virtual" - the people don't meet. they send the tracks via the internet. what i'm talking about is "live-realtime tracking competition" ... not exactly competition...contest..but with real people, real jury, real audience etc. etc. etc.

do you see the difference ?

It sounds nice, but are the audience gonna sit there for 2-3 hours while a pack of guys/gals sits and track on their computer?

Fast Tracker 2.08 rulez!!!

the pack of audience can be entertained by another visual-sonic experience in the meanwhile .. besides this event can be embedded into some other big festival ...like bereshit

i have great respect for you too tzahi,
and you're right (unfortunately)
sometimes i just can't help and let the kid in me out .. , thinking "it's good, so it must work"
i guess this spirit is gone for good in trance.

BOM.

P.S.
i still think such event can take place, but it should be promoted/claimed/born not in here, in this forum.
