im gonna download a few trackers to see what all the fuss in the past was about
does anything know much about them?
they all seem to be sample based to me, but are there any softsynth plug ins, like for impulse tracker? some have plenty of effects too, but any information anyone can give on them, would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone knows about trackers which are windows based, im not planning on messing around with dos, oh and whats the most expandable tracker??           mr brainbong (formally the Dancing Coriander king, formally the Dancing Coriander Queen)

IT 2.14

... it's a wonderfully easy program, very good for having a wide view of the track. Sound quality is shit though.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Kaz i am with u(old school no?) IT 2.14 it is quite a basic sequenser (that crashes too much)
and there is no FUSS it was just affordable and cheap thats what made it popular not the quality or anything else one could just sit down and start making music

Impulse Tracker (my opinion)...was the best in the trackers, even infected mushroom used it, when erez was shidapu
and duvdev did the track - Devil

I allways used FastTracker 2.09
all the time! it was all great in the far away past....

about FastTracker 3 Beta - it's stupid and it's not from Starbreeze anymore - it's some amateur who wanted to make a porgram.

Modplug is cool since it emulates IT, FT2, ST3 and PT rather good and lets you use VST plugins.

That's what I use and it's cool, but better for oldskool, not for new psytrance. For that, you need a more powerful software in my opinion.
