This is something that i had been thinking about today. I was listening to Pixel - Wild and friendly, so for a moment i pictured a wild and friendly guy at a party dancing away like he was from the jungle but friendly in the way he spoke and asked you where you were from etc. but on the other hand i thought about how wild and friendly totally did not suit the track name. there was nothing wild about it. so i thought what really goes into naming the track ? are they really necessary ?
By naming a track something , it lends it a meaning that makes one think about the track in the way its been named. It can very easily be left open to interpretation for the listener to think about how he wants to imagine it as.
It's ok if there is an LSD sample and you name the track lsd , but if the sample in the track has nothing to do with the the track title then why just name it anything?
Any thoughts?

My Girlfriend was saying the other day that all tracks should just be named by number...
She said, when she listens to DJs talk, they all say, ah, that is #1 or that is #4 on such and such CD....
She thought everyone should just do that..
I think names are cool and maybe they inspire the artist before they start a track. I think some also name it from the feeling they get when listening to it...Other than that, who knows?
assumption is the mother of all fuckups. |

the name of a track should preferably fit the track. It works the same as with covers. it doesnt really matter alot. but if the name is funny/ interesting i will probably listen to it sooner than if it has a boring name. |

I think you can name a track whatever you want...
i mean you can make wierd connections to almost anything... some nifty things or just too far out to be true... silly or funny, serious or not.. or just cool
sometimes when you are explaining a track you might say, you know that track which starts with a weeeiiiiiiii, so its the weeeiiiiiii track you get my point.....
that Pixel track which i havent heard might got its name cause its a little cheesy but still a little psychedelic... hehe
