ok after a bit of twiddling i think it was in the mix. after comparing my tracks now after a little fiddling ive noticed that i was trying to get maximum volume 0db with just my kick and bass. however this is not the case many other elements of the track are all part of making up the volume. so if i have my cubase mixer turned to 0db and track is sitting pretty level with 0db, i should be right yeah?
