Hi people
Does anyone know the best way to structure a fill. For example traveling along at 150bpm and wish to do a quick couple of stabs with some drum work, what is the best manner to do this.
I have been doing it by ear, and timing, but feel that that is time consuming, and that there is an easier way, namely structuring it relative to mathematics. is this right?
any help would be appreciated, really greatfull, any ideas or help, thanks |

First I would slow the tempo down to between 130-140 bpm. Why on earth would someone attempt to write 'dance' music at a tempo most people pogo to at a punk rock concert?
sorry, just having some fun. don't mind me, carry on.
No, really, music is governed by patterns, but its not math - there is no easier way than using your ears, composition has no algorithmic shortcuts.
