Stereo Plug from Brazil uses an iPad in his live sets, but he uses TouchAble I believe (with a Macbook Air). I filmed his whole set a couple of months ago and I didn't notice any issues at all - also looks damn cool.

But besides that, there're some super sweet apps for ipad. If you get it, be sure to check out Bebot The Robot (super, super fat Saw/Sqaure/PWM synth with XY control (pitch + cutoff) and Thumbjam (gives you a vertical piano roll you can lock to any scale, you just run your thumb up and down. Can transmit MIDI via WiFi so you can play insane live leads without having to worry about going out of key)           www.facebook.com/chemogen

I've used it in the past and it works fairly well. I never noticed any dropouts when using it. It works best when you create a secure Ad Hoc network between the computer and iPad. This method would also eliminate the need for a router in your setup when playing out. Griid and/or Lemur from Liine are also other great ways to integrate the iPad into an Ableton Live setup.

Based on your tutorials I noticed that you are using a Mac which makes it really easy to create an AppleScript to create the Ad Hoc network. It can then be compiled down to When you get to that point I will gladly send you my script for easy setup. I'm sure this could be handled on a PC in the same manner but I haven't researched into how it would be accomplished.           Analog/Digital Synth Modules www.toppobrillo.com

I use TouchAble. Was better than touchOSC and not as complex as Lemur.

And if you Jailbreak your ipad and get mywi you can tether your ipad to your computer and create a netwrok connection through the usb. Way easier to set up and no worries about dropouts.           .............................................

Ive used TouchOsc, TouchAble, Lemur, Griid...

Gotta go with TouchAble most of the time. Lemur's possibilities are endless...but you have to do all the setup and everything and sometimes its cool but if you're not a programmer or don't enjoy programming it can be a little daunting at times.

TouchAble just always works.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I have an ipad 1 and ipad 2 and neither of them have had any issues with Touchable, excepting when 8.2.8 came out and it broke a lot of the wireless stuff I was doing. That was a month or two (or three?) ago, and I confirmed it with Touchable and they said they were working on it. I just went back to 8.2.7 and everything was fine.

Don't see a need to go up from that ATM as Ableton seems to fuck more shit up in 8.2.7+ versions than actually add something useful or beneficial.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

i use that loopmidi to route the lemur to my pc and often get bluescreens with stdriver64.sys , its a driver that came with loopmidi and totally sucks..

dont really know what to do about right now..the solutions i found in the net didn`t solve anything yet..
