I had a wonderful time.

Thanks a whole lot, beautiful people and beautiful party.

I'm not sure what the deal was but the 4am cutoff time was a complete surprise to me as it said "3-??" on here and 4-??? > ????? on the touch samadhi forum which made me assume it would be an all night party at the very least. Thus my planning of the night was not quite optimal and discombobulating once it suddenly ended so in the future if the ending time is not going to be at sunrise (or later) it should be explicitly stated.

other than that, every set was rocking, high energy dance floor, happy to bring the new years in with you guys.

Thank you for a great new year!

Thanks to all that came out and danced the year away with us. It was so good to see all the old and new faces. Thanks to all that helped set up and tear down. Thanks to Axis for running the door pretty much all nightlong, thanks to Evangeline for the beautiful alter, and thanks to all our friends for all the support over all the years. Sorry about the party ending at 4am , but between the new owners and the neighbors we had to end the evening a little early. I hope all of you had a great time and can't wait to see you on the dance floor again.

Please join us Feb 7th at the Garage and celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Psychedelic Goa Trance in Asheville, Utta Chaos style.

Thanks also to everyone else who put in time weeks ahead to make this happen!

^^ Sorry about that, but some times the venue owners can be bitches like that and when they say they want to close there's not much that can be done about it. At any rate, don't blame TOUCH Samadhi for it and try to understand that even on NYE that shie happens

I was informed that a contract was made limiting the playing time to 4 am, if true this fact was blatantly omitted from the advertising, which is problematic for me on multiple levels and is not just "shit happening" but intentionally misleading. I know people who paid full price incredibly close to closing time, if there was even an inkling of a clue that the music could end at 4 these individuals should have been made aware as well as attendees.

On top of that the way it was ended was absurd in my opinion. First of all the music went more and more intense and just stopped without warning or consideration of flow. Flashing the lights on and off? Trance shows are all about flow in my opinion and that was disrespectful and off putting.

Again it is not the ending time I have a problem with it is how information was conveyed and if in fact they knew that it would end at that time they should of informed us ahead of time.

I could be totally mistaken about any pre-existing knowledge about agreements made for an early closing time, and if so I apologize.

Theoretically, if there is a contract stating that 4 AM is closing time, and 4 AM - ??? is listed on the official site, one should generally consider it a privilege if we are allowed by whatever authorities are present to party longer. ??? could imply that the party will close at 4:01. Or it could close at any time after that. Especially when one considers that there aren't exactly a plethora of venues to choose from in Asheville especially on NYE that will allow that kind of party. Not to mention there is always the police or fire authorities showing up to consider. I agree that it's a pity and it sucks. But again, you cannot blame the people who threw the party for yourself making an incorrect assumption about what "???" implies.

I'm sorry that you feel that the music building and building in intensity until the end, as you put it, is not a flow, but to me personally, it is. And also, before you start feeling all disrespected, please consider that people pay money out of their own pockets for things like contracts, food, and water, for example, and donate their own gear at their own risk as well as put in hours of manual labor and creative time so that the only thing rest of us have to do is come out and pay a measly $10 to have a good time and enjoy their favorite music with their friends. There are Top 40 sports bars that charge twice that on NYE. To me the effort and energy that a small handful of people put in to making that all happen for the rest of us is very respectful in my opinion and if you had a good time (which you seem to have until you felt slighted at closing time) then you should be thanking these people for what they do.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but just trying to offer an alternative viewpoint which you may not have considered. Namaste.

From my first post.

I am beyond thankful about the event, there were just some aspects that provided some sort of confusion and was somewhat disappointing. The closing time was only disappointing because it was not communicated, yes it could imply that it close at 4:01 but I and everyone else I talked to assumed it meant until it was forcefully shut down or people cleared out. If that was the assumption made by the vast majority of people than clearer communication would have been helpful.

That said, as I posted above, this was disappointing but I still had a fantastic time and had a wonderful sunrise at a friends home.

I am quite appreciative of all the hard work put into the event, the great music, deco, etc.

Flow is a personal opinion when you offer in musical taste what they did. They offered the whole spectrum in 6 hours with multiple genera's that have there own separate flow patterns that could take up to 3 days to cover if one wished to get technical about flow.

Sure the ??? was misleading and in my 2 decades of techno parties, it usually means "depending on how many people are still willing to party and it goes on." I'm sure they learned a lesson in that department.

Great flow for the time allowance and thanks for including all the different styles of music so everyone felt welcomed. What a great way to bring the New Year in..
