To whom this may concern.
I have been a member of this forum for quite a while, almost 2 years (in July). I have benefited immensely from being a member, before I had heard of Isratrance I did not have “intellectual” trance debates. Furthermore these discussions have enlightened my musical taste, my perception of trance has also improved significantly. For this I’ am grateful! But I feel that this Forum and its moderators are somewhat subjective in their interpretation of many case scenarios, for instance, a thread being locked, because of a few off topics, or the moderator’s disapproval of the context, while another user might not be as “unlucky”. This is not my primer problem, because we are all human, and subjective ness is in our nature. We will always prioritize or privilege a friend. What I don’t like is when members of the isratrance crew dictate or compose obscene rules/laws, for example the new and already notorious editing regulation (and yes I have already read the thread, actually that’s what provoked me to writing this). I don’t want to name names, but some of the moderators seem almost arrogant (edit-button missing, thread). Dictating and changing the editing set-up, to fit your view of how and when a post should be edited is totalitarian and in my opinion a repulsive decision. You can compare it to Iran’s or China’s internet legislation, which is with out a doubt obscene. In the Israeli section, there was thread about making a festival in Israel, where again the moderators seemed supercilious and patronizing in their expression of opinion.
I would like to hear your comment isratrance crew.
Sincerely
Daniel Choleva.

wow.
I'm the first to reply, I guess, and I will speak my mind, if I may.
I'm trying to understand what are the points of your thread, and as I see it, they are:
1. Moderators actions in sections (locking threads, deleting them, offtopics, etc.)
2. Edit button gone (aka IsraTrance Team == dictators)
so, I will respond to each apart-
1. The actions of the mods in their sections is affected by the GuideLines as by their common sense. There are no special rules for mods or anyone in this forum - the fact that I have a orange color nickname means I have more responsibilities, but no extra privilages. Same goes for mods, supermods, admins, anyone. We all work under the same guidelines, no exceptions.
If some moderator has misbehaved in your opinion, you have two options - contact him or contact me. Mods are human, like you and me, and make mistakes that come with their extra responsibilites, but everyone around here needs to understand that we've got to have some order here, and it's our job, all of us, to keep this place the great place it is. Mods and Team are here to serve and protect not to rule, but to help.
2. Edit button gone / any general forum decision: well, I'll be frank as I can be, hoping not to offend you, but - you dont have to like anything IsraTeam does, live with it or leave it. The edit button was removed for reasons already discussed, and will not be back.
I hope I answered your Qs, and if I missed a point, plz let me know.
faithfully at your service
karnaf.

Yeah, everything he said
and also, the edit button was limited because some people were abusing the use of it to their own purposes. We try to give as much freedom as possible. This time we did some thinking and decided this particular freedom should be taken away, and the price to pay is not too high.
BTW, in forums I don't moderate I can't edit my posts too, so it's not like I'm above the common folk |

Karnaf thank you for your answer.
I'm not saying that I have to like or approve of any of your decisions, regarding the forum (I could just stop visiting it). I’m merely pointing out that the forum is becoming more and more authoritarian. And if there is something I hate it is being told constantly what to do. It’s as if you don’t trust the members of the forum. I’m not to blame if a few people misused the editing function, why should I suffer. I hate collective punishment, it reminds me of kindergarten. Ban the people who abuse the forum, period, and let the rest of us live in peace, with out so fucking many rules.
Just for the record, I know that you make these rules for the better of the forum, and not for your own gain .
Cheers

well sometimes you have to take these decisions.
I understand if we would create it long times ago, but we came to this easy and free solution after having some real problem. and i think there is nothing for you to afraid about this forum becoming some bla-bla. 30 minutes for edit is fair enough as i always said that in life u won't be able to change what is said. and this small painless limit give us an option to not run after each topic and check what's went on, why and how it was ruined.
if you remember once we had line saying how much and when post was edited. now it's removed. so the order of things ain't important. nobody even will pay attention at it and again there are mods around and also user may post addition without problem as another comment.
so we are kinda working on easy use of forum for all of us and freeing some time for more important things, like forum development;)
  I may rise, but I won't shine ... |

Thank you ShivaS, that actually cleared things up for me, you appealed to my sense of logic . Still I don’t quite agree with your way of dealing with the problem, it’s easier to simply ban people for exploitation of the function (first you warn them, and then you ban them). I must admit I did not know such a problem even existed, I would never have written this post if I was aware of these factors. It’s because your methods seem totalitarian I got frustrated, why was this information not publicized in the forum to begin with?
