A friend, who is a world travelling eclipse chaser since years, claims that he has had the most profound and important spiritual experiences during total sun ecclipses.
Anybody else feeling the same?
Because he is trying to make me joining him since years and I am allways postponing  |

It is an interesting experience indeed. When you suddenly have twilight in the middle of a bright day. It looks spooky and makes you feel about the same too: not quite anxious but unpleasantly alert. Dogs become very unhappy too. I don't know about a profound spiritual experience: I've had one or two but not during the eclipse. |

I was disappointed. Sure it was a strange experience but nothing spiritual. I was at some gig in 2002 called the Outback Eclipse Festival. It was a nightmare of a festival for various reasons, not least a bunch of high hippies setting my car on fire in the middle of the desert. Luckily in had enough water to save it. Last festival I went to. Also got gastroenteritis from the food stalls and spent most of the festival shitting myself and vomiting. Luckily my bro who's a doctor turned up with some blockers for my guts & I left just after the eclipse. Yuck .
