Hi, what is your top equipments in your studio and why? Make it top 3.

I can start;

1. RME Multiface
at the moment. I had FF400, but needed to be sold. Sice then i missed that thing so deep, so soon as possible i took her back, even it was older version.. My mixes are just so much more better with RME that with anything else. Fill my needs 100%.

2. Presonus central station
could be number one also but comes atleast on second. That was actually because of good seller i bougth this unit in the first place, but i fell in love with it pretty soon from the beginning. Just awsome unit, transparent but very silky sound, you can listen that sound whole day and never get bored. From monitors or headphones. It has veery nice headphone amp (two output). Three sets of monitors can be hooked up, or two sets plus sub. Also make it mono button is very nice and usable feature.

3. BBE sonic maximizer 822A
Solves many problems like lack of harmonics, lowend, highend. Gives life to any sound. Also usable in mastering too.. I also use vst plugin one a lot. When i get my Yamaha mixer i'm planning to use this one in yamahas send channel to boost some hardwaresynths on inserts.

culture vulture ! (the plus with nos tubes) i want it with me in my grave when i die..the only piece of gear i never want to be without.just with this i could be happy, it shine at removing digital edge from the sounds..a mix with or whiout it, it s probably like night and day,and it look/feel like something designed by a mad scientist, love it.

future retro Xs, very versatile synth , not easy to program as the knob and modulation have big range it need to be tweaked with care on the small pots.
great for fx, great for acid, great for fm psy sound, great for goa leads... this synth would have been out in 95 it would have been all over goa trance. it s even capable of drums that sound as convincing as coming out of a TR 909 or 808 (maybe not the kick..but you can do goa kick with ease).

and last one i don t know , maybe my metric halo uln 2 soundcard that always serve me well..the pre are good, the software is great..you can save all the drivers setting just by saving the daw session, it s included with the project file on any daw, thanks to a plugin you load into the project and dont take any cpu.. latency is also non exsitent a round trip ad/da on my gears i have 1 sample at max of latency.
but if later i see i can get the quality i want wihtout much hassle in that room and can offer mastering service, i will upgrade to maybe lio8 or apogee symphony.. but right now really not needed for my needs.

Right now its:

Moog Slim Phatty
Sounds great, full MIDI implementation which means recording parts twice for true stereo.

x0xb0x
I love acid lines, so this is a must. Also great for basslines with a more old school feel. Also love programming patterns on its sequencer.

NI Maschine
Ok its basically software with a controller, but its the best sampler I've ever used. The included and (some) expansion libraries are great. Brilliant FX and its internal sequencer in conjunction with the pads let me program beats in a way that is a lot more enjoyable.

And I will add a forth. The Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator. Absolutely brilliant for retro sci-fi timbres and special FX and very unique sound. Also great sounding analog overdrive when cranking the input gain.

1. SRH1840

I don't have accoustic treatment in my room so this is great for mix checking. Not good to listen to music although. Usually the tracks I love to listen on the monitors become just OK on the phone.

2. Komplete

The library is fucking awesome.

3. Tempest

Top notch beats and really nice synth.

in what way top3?
most used, most loved, most useful...?

1. roland sh-101
-long time friend and companion
-reliable, easy to work with, great sound
-tons of fun!

2. logic 9
-i've just always worked with logic (starting with logic 4)
-quick swipe comping is the s#it!
-flex time, automations, ultrabeat and the keys & synths ain't shabby either...

3. a patchbay, samson s-patch plus
-ideal if you have several pieces of hardware and a small mixing console and/or a sound card
-the possibility to quickly make changes to any given signal path enhances your work and artistic flow

Currently?

MacBook Pro 15". 8gb RAM. It's great.

Akai APC40. Best controller I've had. I tried the Launchpad first, and Maschine. Neither worked anywhere near as well with Ableton.

DSI Mopho Keyboard. For the price it's just really awesome, but soon to be replace with the poly evolver           Cuntus Maximus.
