Since we havent started the top 2009 thread in the trance section yet, why dont we go ahead and post our favorite non trance-tech albums of 2009.
Can be pretty broad selection (reggae, rock, metal, hiphop etc). Been a pretty shitty year musicwise but here are my picks:
1)Yeah Yeah Yeahs: It's Blitz!
2)Camera Obscura: My Maudlin Career
3)Mos Def: The Ecstatic
4)Gong : 2032
5)Isis: Wavering Radiant
hope to share some goodies that we have missed. Other mentions could be Animal Collective, Fever Ray, God Help the Girl, JJ, Air, Sunn O ))) , If These Trees Could Talk, Kings of Convenience.

Napalm Death - "Time Waits For No Slave" (Centruy Media)
Napalm manage to go back to their grind roots a bit more on this one compared to the last two albums which experimented a bit more... this is just pure brutal politically fuelled grindcore right for the hate fuelled soul of N.D! If you by one extreme CD this year, this must be it!
Man Must Dies - "No Tolerance For Imperfection" (Relapse Records)
Very well executed political fuelled technical death metal, from start to end each track on this CD is brutal, heavy, technical and has a message that strikes home.
Behemoth, well you know Poland's current kings of blackened death metal give us a new album full of mystical anti-christianity pagan fuelled hate... if you can hunt down the clip for this it's well worth the effort!
Hailing from Austria, Belphegor are way over the top but they make good blasting blackened death metal and even manage a wee bit of melody on this one!
Azarath - "Praise The Beast" (Agonia Records)
With the drummer from Behmoth behind them Azarath are a much dirtier sounding vision of their larger counterpart... brutal and unforgiving all the way!
I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Cheers... actually been a real good year for extreme metal... I'd highly suggest if you like just really REALLY brutal stuff go and also get Anaak Nathrakh - "In the Constellation of the Black Widow" album... my fav track...

Pretty weak year. Proper ending for a weak decade.
The last Frusciante album was pretty cool.

I am going creazy or rocks sucks hard lately, or I just getting older? or just too much electronic music?
"The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."
