Why the musics shops here in greece is too expensive?
Can anyone explain the reason or not?
Someone who has a shop can answer the question or hide. |

Its easy to answer.
A label sells a cd to its distributor (this price includes label income plus shipping to its distributor),distributor receives the cd and sales it to a shop (this price includes shipping to the shop and the profit of distributor,if the shop is not in europe then a special tax is added),the shop sells the cd to the customer (this price includes the profit of the shop).
If this is the sequence then usually a cd ends up around 12 euros on the net shops or to a record store that buys directly from labels distributors.
BUT because most greek record stores buy their music from net stores like psyshop for example then to these 12 euros you have to add the shipping of psyshop to the greek record store plus the profit of the record store so we reach a price of approximately 16-18 euros.
And because many people will ask me WHY greek record stores buy their music from psyshop or trance shop or saikosounds instead directly from the labels distributor then i have to inform you that many labels and their distributors make special aggreements with net stores for exclusivities in their areas so its not possible for greek record stores to avoid this sequence before purchasing a cd.

I've never found any psy_trance cd under the price of 20-22...euros...in your area....!

Thanx for your answer DETOX but when they are buying from net shops they dont buy only one cd i think they are buying much more, also the price is not 16-18 for each cd. The price is 12euro for each cd plus delivery. |

Psyblanca when trance shops in Greece buy from net shops they dont buy one cd indeed.They buy what the net shop has to offer them which means that some labels work exclusively with Psyshop for example,some others work exclusively with Trance Shop,some labels dont sell to net shops etc etc so that means that trance shops in Greece dont buy all of their music from one place in order to achive so much better prices,i hope you understand what i am trying to say here.
Anyway if a trance shop in Greece buys lets say 5 cds from psyshop for 12 euros plus 1 euro for each cd shipping expenses then the cd arrives here on the price of 13 euros.Then the cd goes on sale from 16-18 euros depending the profit of the store.
Thats why i said that the average price for cds is 16-18 euros

I didnt know that trance shops work like that...thats not fair for greek shops...
at least Greek label cds should be cheaper. |
