if it doesn't work with changing speed of the audio but computing the tone change, this typically is an offline process, isn't it? (or i misunderstood your question )

oh, with offline i meant 'not realtime' because playing with higher/lower speed can be done during playback (realtime), but computing a higher pitched sound without playing faster/slower needs some offline algorithm, like the function in cubase sx, pitch shift.

tell me if there is some tool to do this computation in realtime during playback, would be interesting!

I think he means is a tool that let it sound higher, not faster/slower ànd higher. It sounds like what a pitch bend is doing, WITHOUT making it faster/slower.
Like cosmo/highko/osom uses, am I right?
Btw I don't know such tools either, in the past I used ShivaShifter from also. It's just not the same.
Good luck finding it!

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the pitch-shifter in Cubase; this has an envelope (which can use both curves and straight lines). You can preview it in one of the lower-quality modes, and render the final version using the MPEX algorithm.

It's in Audio -> Process -> Pitch Shift.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

change the pitch in the time strech window/box

use the time strech to fit it the length
and make it tonal is the exect same oposite.. will strech without change pitch

You ment like those crazy fx'breaks' like cosmo/highcosmos/osom used?

Well perhaps I've found another solution,
in CooleditPro you can stretch your rendered wav ...
It sound stretched without stretching it
I don't know the names of the sliders you have to slide anymore, but I will send you some screenshots when I'm online again. I'll send an example aswel

See ya !!!

But this is an "offline" prosess (am I right?), so this cant be modulated as the song goes?if u dont chop up every sample and timestretch them individually, but thats a hell of lot of work?

Gill, sounds interesting.
