"Also most people i know that are into the psytrance scene, love the actual full-on stuff. Me too. It is good music if it is good MUSIC. Doesn't matter if there are some sounds the same."

while i agree that good music is good music the actual sounds in psytrance are far more a part of the "good" part than in traditional music. My biggest complaint about new psy is that everyone is tending to use the same synths. Take away tracks not mainly made with an access, clavia, waldorf, albino, disco discovery, native instruments whatever and that kills off 90% of the music made since 2002-2003.

You are right. Somehow I don't think you mean the same as I do.

Now listening to Sub6 and Panick - Succubus. Much better production than Mylo.

Never liked Sub6 my self. Can't say anything about Panick since I've never heard of their name, or music.
I strongly believe that Mylo's production is of a much higher standard than Sub 6's.           Me>You

If the gear you're advocating costs more per unit than the total annual gross CD sales income of any given artist on the forum, I think it's safe to say that you are not trying to help people so much as you are trying to either impress them, bankrupt them, or both.

No! do u know what i hate moast in this world!?
that is the thing that people are able to kill each other for some bucks! im not trying to impress or bankrupt anyone! whats in it for me if somebody buys some new gear?
but I can tell u one thing! if i had to chose between working whit a behringer mixer and some software!, i would definitly take the software!

I feel that hardware definitely can be useful, it tends to have it own unique sound to it, but at times that could be considered bad as well. I can't tell you how many times I have heard the same hi passed saw lead patch on a Nord in a trance tune. You can also usually tell when someone is using a virus in their tune. You can spot a vb-1 bassline from a mile away, and you can tell when someone is using the vanguard... It doesn't really honestly matter what you are using as long as you use it well. So in the end, the gear you are using are just tools that make it a bit easier to transfer your emotions to sounds. It's fine to have a piece of gear that has that rich fat sound, but if you can't eq your stuff at all then it doesn't matter. Turds cannot be polished into diamonds, no matter how authentic and unique the turds are... Just because you spend a large amount of money on equipment doesn't mean you are going to write spectacular music. If you have gear, learn how to use it really well. Don't just run out and buy every piece of gear you can afford just because you think it will help you make good music. (This is also one of the issues I have with software)

When I first started writing music, I was just using presets, had no real clue about how to actually design my own unique sounds. So as such, I had a bunch of vsts that I barely knew how to use except for the presets. After carefully reevaluating the amount of software I had, I decided to only keep the ones that I really liked and planned on using a lot more. I graduated to preset tweaking (taking an existing preset and bending it to your uses) and really invested time into learning the synths and their capabilities.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Totally - one of the funniest parts of accumulating an out-of-control VST collection is soon you realize how many of them make the exact same sounds, and that certain presets from 1 VST sound exactly the same as presets from 5 others.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604
