You know when you are listening to a track and you think 'thats a perfect mix, right amount of bass, I can hear everything etc'?
Why on the great majority of the events (specially indoor ones) the mix is so different? To much bass IMO...Maybe it has to be this way on a big system, but I don't think so...

N1 feels the same way?

There's no such a thing as "Too much Bass"...

Just Kidding.
I feel the same problem too, I love middle frequencies...
Sometimes it depends on where you are on the dancefloor, but must of the times I think it's really bad equalization... Anyway, I'm no expert in this field...

Most of it is bad mastering.

You hear more bass in inside parties, because the walls create "standing-waves" which double the bass' frequencies...in corners this is about 4-times as much...
That's why I preffer out-door parties !!!

I think this music is best in nature...

But I've seen GREAT sound on indoor events
and BAD sound on outdoors to!
If it is mastering, how come when I listen to the CD at home the sound is perfect?

Depends on the quality of the soundsytem the DJ and/or artist is playing on, and also the acoustics in the place you're at. It's also possible the DJ just puts too much bass in the mix he's playing, because those DJ's are always tweaking knobs... they have to seem busy don't they??           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Sur bro

Maybe what you are trying to say is that indoor parties arent as good as out door. Definetley indoor parties sound different than outdoor. Indoor parties usually dont hv a good resonance and tends to listen really bad, but that doesent mean that it has too much bass.

This is why i prefer out door parties

Maybe its equalization...
I just find strange how ppl like this kind of eq... I really prefer the studio/album way, most times with less bass and 'softer' but with more mid frequencies.

I agree, a well mastered album just sounds good anywhere.

i remember distinctly @ da voov 2 yrs ago - a wonderful festval - but da bass in da main rig was Ricocheting off da other speakers and creating a double overlay of bass - it seemed as if da dj was not beat matching properly FOR THE WHOLE OF DA FESTIVAL!!!
too much bass creates techno out of psychedelic!
turn down da bass - bring on the cosmic
