I’m writing this post because I’m quite frankly tired of all the complaining in this forum and generally in the trance scene, I’m strongly inspired writing this post because of the recent thread we had titled “disgusting” and a personal recent experience…
Last Wednesday I was at a party in Copenhagen with the following line-up: Human Blue, Intact instinct (maybe his last performance ever) and Sonus. There was one gigantic laser which looked absolutely incredible. The deco was quite all right, and the rest of the light was at least above standard. The party organizers really wanted people to have nice time so they also promised a 3D show, and everyone received 3D glasses at the entrance. Unfortunately the guy who should have delivered the 3D show was arrested and was unable to lend the equipment to the organizers. Now the owner of the place which is rather large (1000 people), only wants his own doorman to stand at the gate, and they were clearly not used to working at Psy-parties. When the party started there was an enormous crowd gathered outside, and the doormen were only letting 4 people in at a time… there were maybe 800 to a 1000 people waiting outside when the party started. Now the organizers couldn’t do shit about this, they really tried but the owner didn’t bother to lift a finger. The consequence of this was that some people waited for almost 2-3 hours to come in (some did). There where a lot of people with the right vibe… And the mood of the people was equally excellent. Yes their were some Steroid-Coke types (which you could refer to as the danish “Arses”).
Now what do you think people reaction to this party was?
The following day after having enjoyed a very nice party organized by some responsible people who are not just thinking $... I was shocked to discover that the organizers received so much bad publicity on the net… It was like everyone was forgetting how much good came out this party, instead they focus on the negative things that they had to in dour, wait in line for example for one or two hours. Not a thank you to the organizers for putting to gather such a wonderful line-up or lending one of the most powerful lasers I have ever seen. People don’t even care if the organizer is responsible or not they simply point fingers.
Being a trance-party-organizer is much harder then people realize, a thousand things can go wrong at the very last minute, and you don’t always have that much control at your very own party…
You have to consider the police, the owner, the doormen etc, etc. You try to be creative but that’s not enough some times.
Arsim or what ever is a global phenomenon. Not a pleasure reserved only for Israel. They come in all sizes; shapes and colors, different look same problem. No organizer wants people who look like Arnold Scwartzsneger completely pumped on coke to come to their party, but guess what? they do… What can we organizers do about it? Nothing!
And the funny thing is many of them are actually not that terrifying if you just talk to them and try to be less prejudice. Or at least act like you are. That's what I do, I may not like how they look, dress, etc, but I offer them a chance as every other human. If I see them looking at me angrily with their red pubbi eyes ready to explode because their coca is all but gone, I Simply walk away. It doesn’t make me less of a man, or dishonor me in anyway, if anything it shows that I’m much more evolved, civilized and intelligent then them.
When such unpleasant encounters happen I always walk away with a smile knowing that I should pity him and not resent him. His upbringing was not very likely to have been benefiting nor did he have the right parents. Furthermore I smile because I know that my life is going so much MORE in the right direction then his.
AMEN.

You should see the Berlin Psytrance site called omzone, its the most annoying shitpool of complainers ive e´ver come across. If you read the articles on there I wonder why anyone in BErlin still throws parties. Making money is considered a crime, the entrance fee is always to high, the deco is boring, the DJs sucked, the chill out isnt comfortable etc... However they never complain about what kind of people come, we dont have "arsim" at berlin psyparties, they always go to the techno clubs.
But I know what youre saying green channel, im sick of all the complaining. Thats why I always hang out on Isratrance, cause the complaining is not nearly as bad as at the german sites.

nice words green channel...I think most of the bad complaining would go away if party organisers would spend a bit more time on the forums and in such cases like this one...write and explain what happened and apologize to people if something doesn't go right...a simple form of communication between the organisers and the party people should always exist

A very good point, Green Channel. But at the same time, we must take care not to become too fluffy and complacent.
In New York we have mostly great party organizers, but there are one or two groups that must be composed of assholes. They have displayed a pattern of deception for some time. Yet people turn a blind eye, refuse to see what is really happening, which allows those assholes to take advantage of the scene. I think people should have boycotted their parties, but oh well. Anyway, this is not a problem anymore, mostly a thing of the past.
A more solid example. Synthetic Sadhus used to throw great large parties, with great international acts, top notch deco, fruit, chai, etc, etc. I do not doubt their intentions were anything but good. For a while SS threw parties at a place called Amazura. This is a place that is not used to a trance crowd and consequently the security was very rough at times. Many people complained to SS. Eventually these complaints paid off, because the security was changed.
However another issue at these parties was that the sound was often horrible, to the point where I could not enjoy the music without drugs. Although some people complained about this, not enough did. Small changes were made, but nothing substantial. Had more people comlained, and the risk of losing audience become apparent, something more would have been done.
We do pay $$ for parties, so there is some right to complain. That's the way capitalism works. But I do understand what u say about excessive complaining and lack of understanding. |

man let me tell you something...
since i stopped to care about that shitty negative people and care more about having fun myself at parties the arsims suddenly dissapeared like act of magic....
i dont have the pleasure ot get to know you man but with this message you only complain like them (plz dont get me wrong this is nothing personal)....
i know there are people who are the most annoing been on earth but they are because you let them to annoy you my friend....
nowadays the psytrance scene has become in some kind of "mafia jet-set" and not care anymore about the psychedelic life....

About bad organizers it's strange but it seems people don't notice who are the bad and who are the talented. So i know what you mean Cubensis. |
