Rev05 seems to work and should be good for audio work, but it's almost a little too slim... certain services are shut off that I would rather be on (like identifying system processes) and it has an infuriating habit of prompting for reboots when they are not warranted at all, like after doing really simple system changes. There is NO REASON to have to reboot after manually changing your IP address, I have never had to do this with any other version of Windows.
However all this would be fine on a "pure studio" computer that isn't hooked up to the internet, but, mine is.
I'm almost tempted to backtrack to Rev03. Rev04 was buggy and wouldn't even install, but Rev03 provided me with a solid year of trouble free operation.

hello i have a few questions for ya, as im very mucho interested in going tinyXP!
Am i gonna have problems with my PCMIA soundcard?? As u have mentioned this OS doesnt support PCMIA and FIREWIRE. I do have all my drivers, how do i fix this if the OS doesnt detect my hardware?
Do i need installing Service PAck 2 or any other hotfixes or aditional installs?
Does TinyXP restricts the use of Internet or any other software?
Have u guys had any trouble installing Cubase SX3 or any plugins?

No, I think it (rev5) doesn't have support for other keyboards than US standard. Other than that it works great. (haven't tried internet or cubase)

You have to get some files from an regular XP CD to get PCMCIA and firewire to work, it's not included in rev 5 at least.
It comes with all the hotfixes up to the date it was released.
Internet and networking works great. If you have trouble with networking change to "use simple filesharing" in folder options.
I don't use cubase, but like I said it runs Abelton and Scope with various plugs without problem and I doubt Cubase would be any different.

You change keyboard layout in the control panel and there is plenty more than the US layout available.
Maybe Chinese and Japanese is stripped out, but there is about 50-60 layouts including Cyrillic, Greek and Swedish.

thanx spindrift for explanation!
i got a rar file from p2p "TinyXP_Rev05", i was expecting an iso file to burn a cd but i got a regular folder with some other folders inside: OEM, I386 Option2 and some files: a boot file and some WIN51 , WIN51.sp2!! should i burn this onto a cd?? or i got the wrong file??

Just burn the image (*.bin, or ISO) with FIREBURNER.
Then boot your computer from CD and it will install as a regular version of windows.
