Hi I'm about to buy a Event TR8 second hand for less than half-price, in my opinion their is something suspicious their lololol but maybe its just me.
What I really want is to know is how to test a monitor and what should I be looking for and what shouldn't be their? what else should I ask the guy in order to keep me safe? |

anothr way is to play them in realy loud volume and see if there are any weird sound(squeeks and sound of air that is coming out) , that may suggest that the mimbrenea is torn or that something is losse inside...
"just when i was about to go out, they pulled me back in..." |

Play them loud with a bassdrum with very deep bass and make sure that there are't any "extra" noises.
Sometimes the voice coiles grinds on the magnet in high volumes if the speaker is old or was to long exposed to direct sounlight..
If it's slight you can only hear it if you play loud, so don't hesitate to play the speaker loud.
Bu if you listen loud use material, that is only bass, only high, only mid... like this you can hear unwanted noise better...
Good luck
