I am planning on installing the trial version of Ableton Live 7 today and was wondering if anyone had some good startup tips. My main focus is to get a feel for the program and understand how to do the basics (using plugins, beginnings of composing a track, etc.). I've never seriously used a program like this before (messed with fruity loops for a bit) so if you can explain anything in the simplest of terms that would be great .
Any suggestions on vsts/other accessories to grab would be nice too. Thanks a ton!

Youtube. Youtube. Youtube.
  You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |

Thank guys. I'm gonna check out the tutorials on the ableton site. By the time I'm through all that I should have one of my friends who actually uses it down here to show me some more stuff. Sucks that most everyone near me that produces, uses Cubase. I can also already see how much easier Ableton is than Cubase. http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Definitely go through all of the built in tutorials in the program itself. they really help you out as they walk you through everything. you can find that in the help menu, then lessons table of contents.
Also, come to the smokers dens this month. I should be able to help you out with some things. As long as I'm not too drunk. |
